General Discussion for Virtual Youtubers / Vtubers / Chuubas - it's okay to be a simp for 2D, just don't thirstpost.

What is the limit of the contractual NDA between an agency an a streamer? Say for example Pekora "retires". Is that person allowed to go about her life saying "yes I was the voice for Pekora" or do they have to, I dunno fucking take that secret to the grave?

Ask the resident aloefags for more context but as far as I know, while it's an open secret, delutaya has never once admitted that she is in fact mano aloe either.
Might be a contracted thing. Then again nozomi did confirmed that she is kizuna ai. She is however one of the founder and still is the leading figure of the ai project so ymmv.
Speaking of ai, she recently did a power move on the doubter and recite her introduction video perfectly, as well as putting the whole thing to rest by basically saying "people change, A.I can change too. I've changed but I'm still kizuna ai so deal with it."

This is a better answer than the original claims that were speculated in this thread when it happened., like her mom died from AIDS after getting blacked or someone knocked down her door and called her a faggot
Yeeesh, were the rumour that far out?
It's true, they said my farts didn't have the right acoustics and I wasn't bullied enough in school :(
You could ask someone from VShojo to help you with that.

Although NDAs are on a client by client basis, I think it's pretty fair to assume they have to take it to the grave given Covers autistic obsession with pretending that the vtubers are real-life animus to the point of forcing Hachama to wear socks on her hands less her stream be pulled like when Rushias fingers were accidentally visible for a few frames.

Going back to the Pekora thing, I really don't understand Cover middle management. As Pekora said, where does the money go? Wages and the shows I get, but everything else?

Want Home3D? Better get your wallet. Want ASMR mic? Better get your wallet. New PC? Sure... Just kidding, pay for it yourself. And the list goes on.

If Pekora really was going to take a break for a month, the amount of money they'd lose will probably be a lot more than whatever stream license she wants. Also, other members who aren't Coco who just spends her money on whatever the fuck she wants like a 9 grand bed (I respect her for this), are really up shit creek without a paddle.

No, I just posted his VTuber twitter and his reddit Acc, no dox.

Without going into to much detail though I will say to take what he says here with massive pinches of SALTE. The guy is clearly mentally and physically unwell and is latching onto whatever he see's as the only positive in his life, he talked about dropping a $100 superchat on her while his mom was paying half his rent for example.
Is MemeGrey's hateboner for SALTE going to become the next new thread meme?

I wouldn’t be surprised if that’s the case. I’ve also never seen someone retire and if they come back just flat out say who they were as it’s considered to be a different character. Also just for safety purposes it’s probably best to not go around saying stuff.

What I’m curious about is how they handle their current talents retiring. The ones that have a huge following (so basically all the girls and some holostars). The usual process is to nuke everything but with how big they are now, I see that as almost impossible without starting a riot.

I'm pretty sure it's an allocation/policy problem. It's very difficult to draw a line between "needed" and "not needed", for example Pekora's prizes and Calli's mic are important for their particular stream, but so are Haachama's tarantula and Coco's pube trimmer. At the end they just said "fuck it" and gave them a stipend in addition to the talent's cut of stream income. On one hand I can understand that the company should chip in, but on the other, I'm fairly certain Pekora could give out $10000 in prizes from her own income and it'd hardly make a dent. Unless Cover takes the vast majority of their superchats she's sitting on a the better part of a million dollars.

I never understood this either. It gives too much credibility to falseflaggers and Nijiniggers who are always trying to paint Cover as a legit "black company," and it leaves me wondering as well. I understand they have a lot of other employees to pay salaries for but jesus christ.

I know they don't mistreat their talents or anything as Yagoo said he flat-out wouldn't allow that ever again, and Fubuki wouldn't stand for it and would quit if it happened but still, the fact they always seem to have flies buzzing out of their supposedly empty wallets despite having like 7 of the Top 10 superchat earners, insane merch sales and promotions, and all that juicy concert profit, is weird.

Maybe they should fish for a free $17M from Sony like Nijisanji did lol.

It's gonna be mighty impossible to hide Pikamee's signature dolphin-kettle laughter. I could probably pick that out at an airport or out on the street.

Marine talked about this recently as well and said she'd be paying out of pocket for a project she wants to do. In some sense I do understand it because if you offer to pay 100k to one member for a personal project they have planned what happens when all 50 of the others come wanting the same for their projects as well? I think Cover are trying to walk the line of giving what they need while trying not to show too much obvious favoritism towards the big earners.
