Wuhan Coronavirus: Megathread - Got too big

LOL fags I finally contracted the coof, it only took a year of not giving a shit and partying every weekend. It's like having a weird head cold without significant respiratory symptoms. Onset of symptoms was gradual and included insomnia, 5-7 days from first indicators of illness and 1-2 days after "peak" symptoms, sense of smell disappeared, taste 90% gone - china virus confirmed! Primarily inflammatory effects including some stomach cramps, very little congestion or mucus production.

Vitamin C, D, Fish Oil, and Zinc party (Oil and Zinc was already in daily supplements) and some alkaline water to wash it down. Frankly I'm glad it happened, now I can be "done" with it and get real immunity/resistance going.

Edit: Out of a misguided (?) sense of decency I wore a bandana over my face to go shopping. It's almost like there was nothing wrong with not wearing a mask all year because I didn't have the virus.

That's a bit of a silver lining if anything. The more that people are skeptical of the government (and the media) the better, I think.
I agree with the sentiment but I think he's talking about "total abandonment of faith in the institutions that are the backbone of the country" type of distrust, not "I don't believe half/most of what the govt tells me" kind of distrust. The kind that leads to stuff in Minecraft.

WuFlu has definitely created a parallel society. Normal people who basically ignore all the propaganda and go to work, go out, and live like normal. Vs Work-from-homers who just stay locked up in their pods and order everything from Amazon/grubhub/instacart. They just sit at home posting on reddit and consoom TV programming all day.
Problem is you can't actually have a normal life anymore because the latter group will screech at you, businesses, and politicians on Twitter if anyone tries. Like who the fuck wants to go to a restaurant these days when it's basically empty and the rules are "put on your mask in-between bites of food and sips of your drink" and if you don't then the weirdo out fron looking through the window will take a picture of you. Okay that only happens in a few bugman-infested shitholes, but still. Plus facemasks feel inherently dirty to me (it's probably the association with disease combined with fucking with the facial recognition of the brain) so why do I want to see that shit anywhere near my food?

Why should seeing live music be like finding and showing up at a crack den and probably more illegal since crack is legal in some places now and no one gets charged for it thanks to NLG DAs? Why should all sorts of activities be such an insane hassle? The flu infects an order of magnitude more people a year and we never stopped society for that. The government is going to need to need a deprogramming campaign to end this "crisis" they and the media goons manufactured before we see anything approaching normal again.
Have said this before, will say it again, maybe ad infinitum. The societal damage from the ChiCom Flu will dwarf any economic damage. Economic damage can be fixed fairly quickly. The societal damage will take many years, if not decades, to heal. On top of all the individual tragedies is the total loss of trust and confidence in ANY level of government to do the right thing, on a par with what happened after Vietnam. I don't talk to that many people, but the ones I talk to always reply in the negative when I ask them if they'll be able to trust government to do the right thing in the future.
So are you saying that property can be replaced, lives cannot?
Miami Heat to use coronavirus-sniffing dogs to screen fans at games (archive)

Going to a basketball game now is going to be about as fun as going to the airport and dealing with TSA.
You mean society in general is, right? Wanna go to McDonalds or Applebees (because there's nothing but national chains left)? Put on your three masks and goggles, pass the Chinkflu dogs, present your vaccine papers, and get your temperature scanned at the front before your server Carl can take your order. Wanna go to the grocery store? Yep, same shit, let the 90 year old greeter with the "thank you for wearing a mask and goggles to protect a hero like me" badge take your temperature and have his dogs sniff you, and oh shit, you forgot to wear latex gloves over your rubber gloves, woops, wouldn't want to kill that poor old guy and his wife, right? You will never experience the noise of a packed sports game, that's just shit on TV. You will never experience the adrenaline of a concert again, you'll get in your pod and remain silent except for clapping. And you will love every minute of it because you're literally saving lives.

The sad part is I could see restrictions like this becoming mandatory to help make big corporations even wealthier and create new jobs. Because big restaurant chains and grocery stores can afford extra staff to make everything 100% sterile, play mask police/"papers please, citizen", and keep the Chinkflu dogs operating. Small businesses obviously can't.

r/Coronavirus got their hands on the Las Vegas teen suicide story. The comments are actually worse than I was expecting.

The irony of this statement. It's too much. :story:

A QBoomer that I know IRL keeps sending me these coof memes from his Facebook, and although I try to ignore them, one of them was a satirical news article about Anthony Fauci encouraging everyone to stick their fingers up their asses to test for Covid, and the accompanying photo showed tons of people outdoors with their hands down the backs of the pants. Sometimes truth is stranger than fiction.

It's not surprising. I believe there are numerous studies showing one of the most common ways for coronaviruses (including colds, SARS, and COVID-1984) to spread is through flushing toilets and plumbing which means handwashing is extremely effective at preventing illness.

This also means we should continue to follow the example of the number one country in the world at coronavirus control, the People's Republic of China, and make damn sure to add anal testing to our mandatory weekly tests. "You must present your papers showing your weekly oral, nasal, and anal tests came up negative before you can enter this establishment." "My oral and nasal tests were negative but my anal test is positive, can I get in?" "No, not until you've had another anal test!"

Yes and no. Agree the more who are skeptical of government/media the better. Flip side is should the next time a national calamity happen, the government/media shouldn't count on support from the people. The people have been burned very badly on this by government/media, so they may well be shy of any involvement next time.

@LurkTrawl - You are absolutely correct, that's what I meant. "I agree with the sentiment but I think he's talking about "total abandonment of faith in the institutions that are the backbone of the country" type of distrust, not "I don't believe half/most of what the govt tells me" kind of distrust. The kind that leads to stuff in Minecraft." Too many people have been pushed too far.

Go ahead and mark this one down now so I can gloat/lament being correct when I am: Before the end of the year, the new push is going to be that you are expected (UNLESS YOU WANT GRANDMA TO DIED) to wear a mask even when in your own home. I guarantee you this will happen, and people will comply.
Some states are already trying.
