reddit General

I recall reading a news article about advertising on social media sites that explained the advertising worth of an average reddit user was less than nothing. Could be misremembering that, but I want to believe.

I remember reading an article in that too, but a reddit user had a very low advertising value. Like 10% of a facebook or twatter user low. It doesn't help that half of reddit accounts are bot scripts, and half the remaining might as well be too.

This is extremely important because this means Reddit has to gain money through other means. Like agendapushing or corporate astroturfing.

Yep

ARPU (average revenue per user) is a way for social media sites to calculate how much their userbase is worth

Twitter has an ARPU of 9,50$ (although the 2nd article claims it's 5 dollars), facebook 7,36$, even fucking Pinterest stands strong at 90 cents, but a Reddit user? Barely worth 30 fucking cents lmao

It's all woke hapas complaining about their white dads.
/r/aznidentity is a really odd subreddit in that it seems to have this odd idea of nationalism for an entire continent. It's like people who actually think the EU is going to form a superstate rather than just slowly falling to pieces.

They do have some funny articles, though, like calling the jackass Brazilian president a "white supremacist" and "one of the most dangerous politicians currently in power", unlike famous nice guy Xi the Pooh I guess. I'm certainly no fan of Bolsonaro but whites are a minority in Brazil and most of the scientifically inept people they're moaning about are mixed race. Also I don't think they actually understand that India and China hate each other, which is Geopolitics 101 so basic that even the worst of the Republicans they're moaning about understood it instantly.

/r/GenZedong is better for the wumao hilarity.

I refuse to believe this is real. I genuinely cannot believe a woman would fuck and bear this thing's children.
One of the father's said "I can't believe you still play with toys." And I responded with "And I can't believe you actually had a chance to reproduce."
...
I called the kid's phone and was just going to tell him that everyone says it was him and I would appreciate it if he gave me the collectible.figure back. He proceeded to say, "Do you have something for me? Do you wanna **** my ****? Is that why you keep bothering me?"

I managed to keep my cool and then he yelled to his father that "that child moles*** is on the phone again" and his dad proceeded to try and rip into me when he took the phone until I just over talked him, said I had witnesses (I do), video (I do not...but I will be ordering some soon now), and the police are on their way so I would really just like my expensive collector's item back.

Thing indeed.

I don't know, I'd side with the manchild in this because the dipshit shouldn't have thought it was okay to just take something and expect nothing to happen. It also says something about the other parents poor parenting that he's raised someone, who sounds passed the age where it's a dumb kid being dumb, that thinks it's okay to just take whatever and even worse he seems to be defending that behaviour. Sure, it might be some dumb toy in this case, but having his poor behaviour not disciplined gives me the feel that it's only going to continue or escalate.

I've no idea how expensive the specific figure is as I don't care to check, but they can get pretty up there and even more so for exclusives, not just the case of someone getting upset the kid stole something he could pick up for $20 at walmart. It's more the issue that something expensive has just been stolen by an invited guest, replace that figure with anything expensive of your own and you'd probably feel similar. Just because it's a toy doesn't change this, if I spent 100+ on anything I'd be pissed at someone just up and taking it because they felt like it.

Its more so the way he reacted to this. spergging out at people when they call your hobby of collecting children's toys and threatening to sue like a Karen when you don't get the response you want is the most reddit thing I've ever seen.
I'd bet 5 bucks nobody actually took it and its just under the fridge or something lmao

Yeah, the dude does have to chill about what other people think about what he does with his own money. The fact that he ranted that much does make it seem like he's insecure at least a bit about what other people think. You can tell a seasoned collector from the types on reddit because their response to people mocking whatever they collect is typically "Yeah, and? Why do you care what I spend my money on?" and just simple uncaring of what others think because it doesn't matter. He could have told that story in half the time by just saying the kid stole his property, which he claims is expensive, and wants it back.

Also, my experience at seeing most Transformers collections is a cluttered mess with zero thought put into making it actually look nice. You sometimes get nice looking collections, but the bulk is either a cluttered mess or a bunch of boxes of sealed transformers which defeats their purpose.

Pretty much yeah, when people question my collecting habits I usually just say "yeah its pretty autistic but I like it" the only people who usually get defensive are giga spergs who take it way too seriously, they're just toy robots.

Can confirm, they're always just giga cluttered or completely static. its usually done for space reasons because transformers collectors are probably the hoardiest types of toy collectors I've ever seen in my life, and seem to prioritize quantity over quality in almost every situation.
The worst one I have ever seen was from this exceptional individual on a Transformer Reviewer's Discord who buys these unbelievably expensive Japanese Exclusive Vintage toys and just fucking throws them on the shelf like trash

Or this incredibly rare limited to a few hundred unassembled kits Botcon figure that he assembled and painted with what looks like finger paint(he bought it unassembled for a few hundred dollars)

I don't even care about Transformers and that shit pisses me off.

THANK YOU.
That image finally finally answered a question that has been bothering me since I was a child. I always wondered about collectors because my line of thinking was:
"Ok, so you buy the toy and keep it in the box. Then it goes up in value because someone else in the future will be willing to pay money for that thing in the future? And then what? Is he saving it for someone else? Is this just an infnite line of toys in boxes or is there some rich guy way down the line who opens them all and reads all the comics and stuff?"
APPARENTLY THERE IS! This Discord dude is The Guy! He's THAT guy that I wasn't even sure if he existed or not.

He is a disabled hoarder(proper hoarder, not just toys) who buys giga expensive toys with his father's money for way more than he should. I remember he bought this Grand Maximus(a huge fucker and a Japanese exclusive thats pretty hard to find) for around 500, and this was in the midst of the rona fucking up all shipping from Japan, but rather than paying like 50$ in shipping and waiting for seamail he paid something insane like 300$ just for shipping because he "couldn't wait that long" he then paid a price that he said was too high to disclose for the Pretender Shell of the toy.
I wish these people were rare.
