I will say this, MauLer did not dismiss Underwater because the main lead was Kristen Stewart. Although I do not know what his thoughts were on her acting in that movie.

Underwater is a generic forgettable monster movie with almost zero character development.
It's clear that MauLer likes it so much because it reminds him of Soma.
He likes the "trapped underwater in a base" scenario and aesthetic but he can't just say that because he has to maintain his "objective criticism" bullshit.
He can't just say "I like it", he has to say "It's good" and then make a video where he mocks the people who don't think it's good.
This is pathetic.

Eh, just heard them take swipes at Razorfist because he doesn't like the movie Aliens very much. That's a fight I would pay for.

I'd take Razorfist's film opinions over any efap member every time (maybe with the exception of the times Razor goes peak contrarian). Razor at least watched films that weren't made by Disney, is somehow less bullheaded about creators with different politics (at least for decades old films) and can articulate why something is good/bad in a concise fashion.

I still don't know why he prefers to use them as reaction images instead of images based off of his community memes. Probably because he prefers his own fans to make art of his memes. Part of me wonders of MauLer is courting Elvis, and by extension, his friends such as BionicPIG to join him on EFAP. Elvis has nearly 3 times the subscribers of MauLer, having 1.4 million to MauLer's 339 thousand. We've discussed before that MauLer is having difficulty expanding his bubble and getting new viewers. This seems like a good opportunity to him. However I doubt Elvis's more mainstream audience may find MauLer's content appealing.

EDIT: It should be noted that Elvis just made a 45-minute review on WW84 yesterday. This is somewhat longer than his normal content. He may come on to talk about this. It was the first time Elvis has every talked about a mainstream superhero movie, which was a change of form for him.

Yea, The Prestige used to be one of the only movies listed on their "EFAP Approved" list on the Efap.me website, but I don't think I've ever heard him go into detail as to why he likes it, other then occasionally saying it's good.

Also a little late on this, but Rags had a massive fedora tip spergout on the Discord the other day, ranting about Christianity (I assume he must have took another jab at it on EFAP recently for it to be brought up).

I remember Elvis mentioning Mauler in one of his previous videos, he said something along the lines of how Mauler's videos "weren't hurting anyone".

I might be reading this wrong, but this Southpaw bloke seems to be under the assumption that Raimi was doing a 4 horseman thing and not just an on-the-nose nickame for a blade that kills people.

You are reading it wrong. But I understand why because the joke fell flat. He was trying to make a joke saying that the 'Death' Knife name is goofy and overdramatic by adding a Revelations reference. You have to understand, Southpaw was very fixated on this knife in the review.

Rags is the most insufferable kind of atheist, the one who has most likely never read a single theology book from any religion, at best has read a book or two from Richard Dawkins, but is so convinced of their own intellectual superiority that they insist and actually believe that any person who believes in a god is intellectually inferior to them. Not even worth debating someone like that, since they don't actually want to find any kind of philosophical truth, they just want to dunk on people they believe are beneath them.

I mean, he hates Dark Knights Rises and Interstellar (I think). I'm not surprised that he likes Nolan, since Nolan has a nasty tendency to stop the movie to explain the themes and plot. Essentially cliff notes that somehow got into the script. Dark Knight Rises is probably an exception because of David S Goyer's writing.

I think he probably picked up the idea that having a contrarian viewpoint somehow makes him look like the smartest person in the room. This kind of thinking was sadly very common in the atheist community when it was still a thing and is the reason a lot of its supporters pivoted to becoming Christians to own the libs when that became the new "hip" counter culture thing. I'm surprised Rags didn't do the same. I'd have thought he'd be the type to hop right on the Jordan Peterson "Cultural Christian" bandwagon the second it rolled into town.
