Weeb Wars / AnimeGate / #KickVic / #IStandWithVic / #vickicksback - General Discussion Thread

So much bullshit in those threads.

Where is the proof that Vic did panels with UmbrellaGuy, HeroHei et al? At Anime Matsuri, Vic only had the weekend panel to himself while HeroHei, TUG, Nick et al had their own panels separately. Oh, and God forbid Vic expresses gratitude for Nick, one of the few guys who most likely prevented him from being buried six feet deep. I'm sorry but smoking cigars with a friend or a sharing photos with some YouTube user at a convention in Tennessee isn't "hanging around who do harassments", dipshit.

To the asshole who says that we should read the transcript ourselves and "not let Nick tell you what to believe", fuck you. You and lawtwitter buddies posted, altered and redacted portions of the deposition transcripts on Twitter to paint Vic in a bad life while Nick uploaded all three deposition videos in their unedited entirety for the world to see. Why would anyone want to read portions of a fucking 300-page transcript out of context when they can watch the entire version of the depositions on YouTube and draw their own conclusions? Also, people have the option to skip and mute Nick's commentary and fast forward to the testimonies. I'm sorry that YouTube doesn't turn people into idiots like Twitter does.

And I love the imbecile who says that the Kiwis were expecting the case to be a slam dunk. Uh, no. Only the most fervent ISWV nitwit believed it was a slam dunk. Many Kiwis were hoping that it would get through TCPA, but still prepared for the worst. That's different. What we did not expect was an incompetent judge treating the TCPA hearing like some kind of trial, hence why everybody (including the defendants) expressed befuddlement.

"They think a lot of things but understand very little" -Dee, the same ugly worm who suggested Vic commit suicide and threw a fit when almost everyone had no idea who this Brad VA guy was.
This channel has Vic's deposition in full without Nick's commentary. It's the only one that has it.

I searched "Vic Mignogna" on Google and filtered out everything except for the past week. Found a reddit thread mentioning Vic:

Oh and hey look. I haven't seen mention of this faggot in a long time:

Ever notice it's always the same vocal minority sticking around disparaging Vic?

And it overlaps with the same people who want Vic dead.

Funny how on every reply from Georgia tard its probably the same fat pedos liking his tweets.

I can see Greg, and every LawlTwatter orbiter go "I actually predicted it would get reversed all along, I'm still right but now it'll get dismissed twice".
I seem to remember a tweet, either from Douchette or Geico Caveman Lawyer, that they knew the case would be dismissed at summary judgment phase, but smuckled that Ty was so bad it got dismissed at TCPA.

If you look carefully, Vic was sending smoke signals to Nick to proceed with the harassment plans.

Checkmate, Vicstans.

Grabbed that earlier this week, my dude.

This whole Vic situation is one the reason i hate western translations of Jap stuff they get shit wrong or alter it to the point it is off. Then again if the creators really care they will demand a accurate translation and examine it by translating it back to Japanese like Hideo Kojima. Then again Japanese is one of the hardest languages to translate and shit gets lost in translation a lot and we get close aproximations. This video sums it up best Weeb shit. This whole vic scenario destroyed an already controversial Funimation in the eyes of the fans but you know this is your average anime fan who likes the native dub.

I don't think anyone who isn't a retard was confident of much more than that it stated a prima facie case that should have at least gone beyond TCPA. Nobody had much in the way of predictions beyond that, such as what it might look like after discovery. Everyone, including Nick, thought it would obviously be an uphill climb in any kind of jury trial, especially if it had to be to a standard of actual malice.
As optimistic as I like to be about things, I don't really have confidence in the justice system for the most part.

So question I follow Mela Lee on Twitter and i see she still follows Vic. So is she not kickvic?, I'm assuming not if she's following him
If I remember correctly, she said on an Unlocked stream that she still talks to Vic. Not sure if that is true, but at the very least she stays out of the drama.

In the worst case scenario that Vic loses the appeals, what is next? Will he most likely just move on or try to go to the Texas Supreme Court? In my view, even if he does win appeals I highly doubt any major dubbing studios will want to work with him because they don't want to be hounded by Twitter mobs.

That's good to hear
I will say those VAs who are open about still being friends to Vic. Really are risking there profession when you think about it. Especially with the funi retards trying to destroy him and anyone who supports him.

Don't know much about VAs but this whole thing blew up in Funimation and RoosterTeeths face others will probably hire him and a vast majoraty of prominent VAs are neutral don't see Jenifer Hale or David Hayter say anything about this. Hell Jen pissed them off by playing a trans charcter in Dragon Age 3 so she can probably sympathize or just doesn't care. So Vic should be ok as long as dubbing companies have balls of steel.

I really do like Mela Lee. I don't share her politics (she is more left-leaning from what I've seen) but she is a genuinely nice person. She's done an excellent job as Rin Tohsaka.

I'm glad Chuck Huber has still supported Vic and Todd's career is still going strong as well.

I'm just hoping Viz will at least be willing to let Vic voice Ikkaku again once the final season of Bleach is released. Although I have my doubts given that Stephanie Sheh supports KV and I'd assume that might have some influence on whether to cast Vic again.

You mean the same Chuck Huber who berated Vic after Chupp dismissed everything?
Afterward, the same Chuck Huber who was playing footsie with Manjaw & other KickVic tards so they wouldn't torch his career?

Where did you hear this?
Vic's friend posted about it day after the hearing.

Make no mistake, Vic took it reeeally hard before getting all the facts about what actually happened. He even had a so-called "friend" reading the KV live Tweets and texting/berating him (grrr!!). With friends like those....ugh

It was a tough day for sure, but Vic is okay. He's a sensitive soul, but he has a good support system in place. Never a need to apologize for caring.

I haven't check in on Chuck in a while. Wonder what he's been up to...

LOL at Chuck with the lone guest that Shane announced for Shota Con.

Since I'm new, I'll introduce myself:

The reason I'm more on the side of Vic is due to the fact we don't have solid evidence that he has ever done something bad enough to be fired. The story that kicked started is based on the wrong voice actor (how could Vic even sent them stuff and where is the evidence for the grooming?) .I'm under the option that there is a spectrum of sexual inappropriacy , saying something slightly inappropriate being a 1/10 with rape being 10/10. If I'm being fair Vic is like a 3 or 2.5/10 with the proven stuff, but even that not proven stuff would be 4/10, which is small potatoes compared to some of the other stuff that came from this, not enough to fire someone. I remember this line from Hoodwinked "we don't arrest people for being creepy", which is how I feel about most of this.

I actually remember this video of J Michael Tatum kissing Ian Sinclair, makes me wonder if Ian asked.

Assuming he gets a favorable appeal (and later a favorable settlement or verdict) it really depends on how based the other companies are. Twitter mobs can and will hound other companies even if Vic gets a favorable decision, and most companies would just assume it's not worth it.

The interim between a favorable appeal ( :optimistic: ) and a favorable settlement/verdict (:optimistic:) would be extremely critical for Vic. If he can drum up enough support outside outside of the legal proceedings, it might convince other companies that, maybe, just maybe, Vic is enough of a draw that they can risk the social media screeching.

Unfortunately don't expect Vic in any anime title again. The metoo movement has ruined things even for those presumed innocent. Its so ingrained now, him being a creeper, that sadly he will not win even if he does get acquitted
