It's still incredibly rare, if not unheard of, in the enormous majority of the country. If you're not in a liberal bug hive (also known as a major city) you'll never see one. Even a couple miles outside of the city limits and they stop existing entirely. Their lifestyle is not compatible with anything except living in the pod and being walking distance from multiple different forms of hedonism.

Dollars to donuts he will be asking for she/her pronouns before Summer rolls around. If he's going out like that in public, some polite people will call him Ma'am as their good deed for the day. He'll get a little hit of dopamine from that, which he didn't get from being addressed as Sir. He won't correct them that actually he is a "they", but will correct them if they mistakenly use he/him. Over time he will grow to resent those who use he/him, as they deny the dopamine flush that she/her brings in every decreasing quantities. After he has become accustomed to the diminishing rush, he'll decide to now take on she/her officially, so that all of the public asspats can roll around again. He's had the first round now, just take a look at the comments on that Jimquisition. Everyone falling over themselves to crowbar "they/them" into their comments. He'll get exactly the same level of support from his die-hard fans when he comes out as she/her. There will even be less dissent because anyone who would have an issue with she/her pronouns would already have gotten out of Dodge after the they/them and wig revelations so only the true beleivers remain.
I think he will still just label himself as gender trash as he wants to appear self-effacing, rather than fully committing to saying in seriousness that he is a woman. If he starts insisting that he is a trans woman then he is done for. With his mental health being what it is, one day he will wake up in a moment of depression (or call it clarity) and see that he isn't really a woman, and that he is still just living a charade. Only now it is pretending to be a woman rather than pretending to be a cool, edgy boi who gives no fucks because he's Jim Fucking Sterling Son. He'll see that the biggest change he has ever carried out in his life is just a lie and all that estrogen hasn't made him happy, just like the antidepressants haven't made him happy. He doesn't have the mental health skills to talk himself down from that - if he did, he wouldn't have come out as non-binary gender trash. That will be his lowest of low points, and will likely coincide with learning how to suck start a shotgun.

This is a fucking insult to GG Allin, Sterling's a guy that thinks fucking estrogen of all things is punk. Yes, its extremely harmful. Agenda driven statisticians keep hiding how badly this medical procedure fucks people up by mislabeling troon suicides (which are INCREDIBLY high because the surgery has EXTREMELY bad side effects that fuck up both the body and mind) as gun deaths and overdoses. Often further disrupting the true harm of these surgery/medical procedures by labeling the blame on "society" rather than the surgery itself.
In truth, most people who go through the surgery are suffering from an undiagnosed case of gender dysphoria. Gender dysphoria is an ACTUAL mental illness and most (good) mental health professionals will never even suggest becoming a tranny. The key to actually curing, or at least learning to live with it, is to teach the patient to accept who they are and replace negative behaviors into positive ones. Like all mental health treatments, its easier said than done. But, the reason they do this is because most gender dysphoric people who go through the tranny surgery and realize that their magic quick fix that they were promised by twitter would make them smell like unicorn farts did absolutely dick all and they still feel like shit in their own bodies, but now they are even more mentally unstable due to the drugs and horrifically debilitating bodily pain. Some troons can pull it off and get by with no side effects, but they are the exception and in no way the rule. If the suicides don't get em, the "unexpected" (totally predictable) medical complications will inevitably take them down in a decade or so.
On average I believe a troon only lives to the ages of 30-35 in the western world and fuckheads who "support trans people" kill far more troons than anyone else could ever hope to by propping up such a surgery as the only way to feel "normal". Welcome to the "progressive" world.
