reddit General

I came across a Redditor who I'm guessing is an Asian American incel. Their username is "DisruptSQ". If they're not posting on r/Aznidentity, the majority of their posts centre around posting articles on r/WhiteTourists, a subreddit dedicated to posting "white tourists behaving badly". IDK if they made the subreddit, but they are single handedly the only one posting in r/WhiteTourists. They're also a moderator to a Subreddit called r/Americantourists.

I still find it funny that these people seem to hate white people and are angry at the Western world, but have an unhealthy/weird obsession with "whiteness". You never see them talking about the rampant problems within their own communities. They're always playing "victim" and "exposing" the "hypocrisy of the Western world". But I'm sure making a Subreddit documenting the disgusting behavior that Chinese, Indians, and other "POC" or even Trannies do, you'd would likely be banned or reported.

The description for r/Whitetourists says:
"A sub dedicated to exposing the infamous hypocrisy, degeneracy, disrespect, and violence regularly seen in tourists, travellers and expats from white and white settler colonial countries."

And here's the lovely banner art:

And I came across this "opinion post", uploaded by basically the only Redditor who uploads stuff there:

It's all jealousy born from an extreme inferiority complex. Same reason why such a disproportionate number of school shooters and incels are hapas (see: Elliot Roger).

I recall reading a news article about advertising on social media sites that explained the advertising worth of an average reddit user was less than nothing. Could be misremembering that, but I want to believe.
isnt this how tumblr ended up getting sold? the users were so unprofitable that they made the site worth so little?

It'd be really ironic if he was Chinese considering they're universally reviled as the worst-behaved tourists in the world.

I just found out there's a Subreddit called r/Chinesetourists, which sees far more traffic. But that one seems far more "nice". They post all the nasty things Chinese tourists do, like taking a shit out on the street or not lining up properly, but the "energy" you get from the posts doesn't seem to be as vile or obsessive as the one in that other Subreddit.

And yes, it would be quite ironic if the user was Chinese/Chinese American or something, given the reputation they have as tourists. They posted in a thread on r/Aznidentity about Hong Kong so maybe they are lol.

Very true. I also suspect their perceived inferiority complex for being an "Asian in America" or whatever further fuels their anger. I don't think I've met people actually from Asia who act this incel/troll-like towards Westerners. It always seems to be Asian Americans or Canadians or whatever who seem to have this much hatred to behave like this on social media.

That may be part of the reason tbh. Asians love White people and Western culture. They're not really so fond of hapas who desperately cling to half-understood Asian culture.

True. For example, I know in Japan, anyone whose half Japanese is considered a hafu/mixed, even if by say, American standards, someone whose half Japanese/half Chinese would be "full Asian". And many Asian countries are very prideful about their ethnic purity/being pretty homogeneous, so I'm sure since many hapas are already kind of looked down upon, them trying to desperately cling on to whatever side further exacerbates their feelings towards them.

I remembered reading a story of this Hapa/Eurasian/whatever you want to use who tried saying he was fully Japanese (even though he wasn't from Japan or was even part Japanese ethnically) and said something about how he lied because of how he was treated as a hapa growing up. I forget which Asian country this happened in though.

Was kind kind of sad honestly and I guess I can see (to an extent) why many do act this way. But imo, if they have all these feelings, you think many would seek out mental help instead of whining on the internet. Though I guess like the people who flock to Tumblr and other social media, who needs actual doctors when you can vent and self-diagnose or blame others for your problems online?

They like certain aspects of western culture, but the Chinese mainland is fairly cold towards western people, especially Australians after the recent arguments over the naval base in New Guinea. I'd compare it to being a westerner in the USSR in the 1980s. You won't be dragged off and murdered but you're viewed with suspicion outside big cities. "Hongmao" (red hair) is a common insult.

The right wing countries like Taiwan, South Korea, Japan are very pro-western.

Pardon my double quoting, , but as far as culture goes, sure, various American/Western companies/media, etc have seen success and popularity there and the countries of Asia do have varying degrees of being pro-Western. But I'm not sure if Asians really "love" Westerners/Western culture in that sense (I'm not sure how to word that).

Adding on to my original post, many people from Asia see Asian Americans, etc are just Americans/Westerners and not really "Asian". Like that movie, Crazy Rich Asians flopped in several Asian markets because of the cultural divide between those actually from Asia and people of Asian descent living in America/the West. Combine that with many of them feeling that the West is "racist and oppressive" to them, and that probably explains why r/Aznidentity has attracted a certain incel-like demographic who seems to be obsessed with using "whiteness" as a scapegoat and overcompensating their insecurities/self-loathing.

Not really Asian, but my uncle is from Nigeria and he said people really have no opinion of people from the west. Its kinda like how do you feel about people from say Laos? nothing really. Just people going about their lives. Unless you are at war with a nation, your feelings tend to be nothing.

What i love about reddit is they thought they could end Chuck Norris badass memes (becuase of his political views) and replace him with Liam Nelson on a vote. And it did noting as the meme didn't come from reddit and no one cares about reddit. Chuck Norris memes are still a thing.

That's when I realized reddit thanks they are more important than they really are.

Was that before or after Liam Neeson got in trouble for saying he wanted to kill a black guy when he was younger?

Taiwan and Japan are definitely right-leaning, but I have my doubts about South Korea being right-wing.
