I agree with your sentiments, but you got some things wrong about doxing, too. I'll make these points for the newfags in this thread who are clutching pearls as well (where do you think you are?):
1. You don't need to share bank/credit details for a dox. That's private info and sharing it could land you in deep shit (seriously, don't do this).
2. Addresses and names ARE essential for a dox and its public info. Considering this, phonebook companies might be the biggest doxers on the planet.
To your point, though - videos of the person behind the avatar is NOT doxing.

I will say this: I don't want this thread to get polluted with doxes, so I'd appreciate it if someone made a VTuber Community Watch thread in the Community Watch subforum. Doxes would be more appropriate in such a thread.

Bit late on the Pewdiepie shit, but as a semi-regular viewer, he said he wasn't gonna show his face anymore on videos, and probably took vtubing as sort of a joke in a meanwhile. This probably has to do with him winning the "Most Handsome Face of 2020" Award from some news outlet, and him reading alot of philosophy for the past 2 years or so, including putting out 2 videos on why he's a big fan of Diogenes' philosophies. They're different from his regular videos, as he doesn't try to joke around or be ironic, and just delivers his thoughts on what it exactly means to be happy in the world.
