So I thought it might be worth a stroll down memory lane to cover Alex and what's happened with the loon the last few years. I felt it an especially good thing to cover because it looked like he was getting ready to jump dick-deep back into the crazy, in a way that might be carrying actual criminal prosecution if he didn't stop bugging Imagos' lawyer and the Judge, only for everything to just.... Stop.
Before we can really begin, however, we need to establish a few things about our boy Alex, so we can get into his headspace and also his MO.

The underpinning reason behind Alex's behavior, as evidenced by the image above from his now-deleted Twitter account, is that he has a pathological
need for attention and affirmation. People doing stupid shit for attention on the internet is a very common behavior, but a markedly less common one is being so obsessed with it that someone will happily cross any line in order to get it - and this is
exactly what Mauer does. He's cut from the same cloth as the morons who decide to go full E-Suicide and nuke their entire online public presence for a single dopamine hit (see also:
Geordie Tait). He has a very long history of major psychological issues, having been in and out of involuntary psychiatric treatment dozens of times. Many of these incidents, cross the line into genuinely disturbing many times, such as when he tore a women's shelter apart because of a rape he claims to have suffered at the hands of his father, that happened decades beforehand and that he has no way of proving happened, and that for the most part, his entire family has claimed he's making up. This didn't stop him, however, from getting into multiple violent altercations with the law.

Alex is also the same asshole who went to a local 7-11 and demanded to use the Ladies' Room, and when the clerk looked at him with a completely dumbfounded face, not knowing how to respond to this shit, he proceeded to use their ice machine to throw all the ice onto the floor. He then proceeded to come back and do this three more times the same day, at which point the cops were called.

So with this, you can see a pattern of behavior starting to emerge: Alex Mauer is legitimately psychologically unwell, is absolutely obsessed with getting attention, and is so self-absorbed that he does not care about the consequences of his actions, or indeed, much about anyone except for himself. He
is smart enough to know that if he causes too much trouble it won't go well for him, but when you already have his dumb ass demonstrating multiple violent altercations with police, that doesn't matter all that much. He's mostly been protected from getting a proper dicking from the state by the fact that he's managed to keep his sperg-outs just enough on the side of
relatively harmless.
Thus armed with the foreknowledge of the kind of person Alex Mauer is, we're now properly ready to get into the aftermath of April 2018.
So it's after the Imagos lawsuit. Alex got comprehensively owned legally. What's amazing is that, for the most part, Alex got off
impossibly light. Imagos could have easily bent him over the proverbial table, and chose not to just because they wanted to get him out of their hair and their game back on the market. Conatus Creative was
also interested in giving Alex a round two, but Leonard French got involved there, and Conatus agreed to just say "fuck it, leave us alone and we're good." The thing is, while Imagos and Conatus were both 120%
done with ya boi Mauer, he wasn't exactly known for following good advice or logic. In an effort to completely undermine his main offensive tactic, Imagos and Conatus both decided to
completely remove any and all content Mauer created for their games from both
Starr Mazer and
River City Ransom: Underground, completely removing any legitimate ground Mauer may have had to further abuse the DMCA against them as a form of insurance. At this point, Alex had basically turned himself into a mini-
Tim Langdell. Unfortunately, this also left Alex with no ability to actually do anything about either Imagos or Conatus, and since he still felt slighted about the whole thing, he decided to harass both Leonard French and the judge presiding over the case. He was promptly told to knock it off or they'd escalate to criminal charges.
Mauer blustered and Autistically screeched for a bit, then then eventually dropped it in favor of going after a new target: The Youtubers that originally covered him, which Alex decided to lead off by sending them both DMCAs
and death threats. Initially, it seemed like this was a good route for Alex to go: he'd get the attention he sought by stirring up the proverbial hive, get virtually guaranteed criticism, and he'd be able to jerk off to the negative attention, as he had always done.

Unfortunately for Mauer, Leonard French had already struck and contacted many of the Youtubers that had covered Mauer, explaining how to handle him - namely, to not give him any of the attention he so richly desired - and after the initial "this is the thing that is happening," Mauer found his attempts repeatedly failing to accomplish much of anything.
With his main targets now fully beyond his reach, Mauer found himself needing that dopamine hit, so he moved on to the next possible target: Let's Players who played the earlier versions of
Starr Mazer and
River City Ransom: Underground. This didn't get him the attention he sought either, since they mostly just either pulled the videos or waited for his DMCA to expire and called his bluff. Yet another avenue for his attention-seeking gone.
Alex at this point was desperate. The only target left for his antics? Groups like ED and the Farms, and good
god did he try to bait hard. None of it was really entertaining or even notable, mostly centering around zero-effort baitposts on Twitter (like the above) and repeatedly deleting his Twitter accounts only to pop right back up and start sperging again. A few IRL acquaintances of Alex contacted us, basically explaining what everyone already knew by now (that he was psychologically unwell and an attention whore who constantly undermined his own relationships, like some weird Chloe Sagal/ADF crossbreed), but since the new information was mostly just new examinations of shit he had already done and context for some outbursts, this wasn't really worth covering, even by the standards of those for whom no shit is too minor. Even if your whole oeuvre is Troon Drama, around this time, we had such glorious fuck-ups as the formation of Sisterwood and ADF chopping his own dick off to spite the Farms, which compared to, Alex was but a gnat before.
One of the stranger corollaries to this is that Mauer had absolutely zero support from the usual suspects, who, under normal circumstances, would have happily defended a fellow troon. One would assume, given Alex's MO and general reason for his actions, that he would happily be able to farm asspats and get plenty of affirmation from the Rat King. Ironically enough, they
very wisely decided to stay the fuck away from Mauer, in no small part because the dude was clearly an unstable nutcase, and, as was the case of Chloe Sagal before him, there's a certain level of crazy that not even the Rat King is prepared to deal with. Amusingly enough, Alex demonstrated that he had this and more in triumphant fashion, burning basically every bridge extended his way. Pretty much anyone who covered him, even with glowing praise, got DMCA'd later by Alex when he wasn't getting enough attention, as happened to Jim Sterling.
Starved of the attention he so craved, and eclipsed by other major fuck-ups, Alex quietly went dark and has not posted on any of his Social Media accounts in several years. If his family is lucky, it's the last any of us have seen from the guy. If he does ever return, however, we'll be here waiting.
