The latest bullshit from the county I live in. They can give my vaccine to someone 75 or older. And they can bite my crank, too. Oh, today doctor's office called, have appointment tomorrow. They asked if I'd been tested. Gave them the date, had to have it for procedure. "We don't have it." "Well, I was at your office last Monday for another procedure, and the issue never came up." "I'm just trying to follow the protocol." Stupid bitch. Had to call hospital where I was tested and have them fax over the test results. Jesus...

COUNTY OPENS VACCINATIONS TO 75-PLUS
• Also makes significant update to dosage stats
Coronavirus vaccine injections will be available soon to everyone in the county who's 75 or older, according to an announcement late this afternoon from health department spokesperson Karen Smith.
"Sufficient progress has been made vaccinating health care workers that providers may now begin to offer Covid-19 vaccine to Monterey County residents 75 years of age and older," the announcement says.
“After consulting with representatives from our local health care community and reviewing data provided by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, we believe that prioritizing people 75 years of age and older at this time will save the most lives,” said health officer Dr. Ed Moreno.
The announcement doesn't say exactly when the jabs will be available, but says the health department's
vaccine website will be updated as clinics are scheduled. To read the text of the announcement, click

The health department today also made a major upgrade to its reporting of local vaccine supplies, saying that the county has requested 43,375 doses, been allocated 37,475 and actually received 29,850. A total of 16,428 shots have been administered, the health department said on its
vaccine website.
Those numbers are an improvement but still fall far short of achieving parity for the county.
According to the CDC, the State of California has received 4,906,525 doses of the coronavirus vaccines. With 1.15 percent of the state's population, Monterey County should have about 56,000 doses by now.
GOVERNOR EXPLAINS DECISION TO END REGIONAL SHUTDOWNS, OFFERS WEBSITE TO REGISTER FOR VACCINES
Talking to reporters today about lifting California’s stay-home order, Gov. Gavin Newsom Monday afternoon said the decrease in hospitalizations and ICU admissions due to coronavirus has decreased in the last 14 days, and that modeling shows further decline in those categories.
“We are anticipating more decline in hospitalizations and ICU [admissions] and that’s why we are lifting that stay at home order, effective today,” Newsom told reporters.
Although immunization has lagged in Monterey County and California, Newsom said the state has “tripled our rate of administering the vaccine.” Newsom said 131,620 doses were administered on Jan. 15, compared to 43,459 doses were on Jan. 4. (For a state of over 40 MILLION people. LOL - JS)
The governor also talked about the “My Turn” vaccination scheduling program that the state is piloting in San Diego and Los Angeles counties that helps people find out when they’re eligible to get immunized. Signup is at [myturn.ca.gov]myturn.ca.gov.
“We are aiming for a statewide launch for the My Turn program in the next few weeks," according to Newsom, who boasted the system will be the most “robust” of its kind in the country.
When the program is offered statewide, eligible Monterey County residents will also be able to schedule a vaccination appointment through My Turn, the governor said. (Yo, Fuckface Newsom. MY turn isn't coming up for at least two years. Eat me. - JS)
