I’ve seen the two movies while watching kids, and it’s extra gross and hilarious because the plot is shoved at you so hard they basically have a heart to heart spelling it out. A toddler could understand it. The movie is very clearly about friendships growing distant and how even if you live away from a friend and have different interests they will always be special to you. That’s it.
Vanellope (the kid) makes a cool new friend, a woman named Shank, and Ralph gets upset because she wants to be part of Shanks game since it suits her better. He tells her he’s worried he’s lost her as a friend and she tells him not to be so co-dependent and that even if she lives in a new game they can still be friends and care about each other. The end. How he reads that as Vanellope fucking her adult best friend and new role model is very much disturbing.
