During the 2020 campaign, Joe Biden announced he will force gun owners of “assault weapons” to either sell their weapons to the government or register them under the National Firearms Act.

According to Joe Biden’s plan in order to register a firearm, you have to fill out a complicated 13-page application form and include a $200 gun tax for each firearm you own.

Your fingerprints and a photograph of yourself will be required on the form.

This will be a difficult program to enact for the Biden regime. In 2020 a record number of Americans bought guns. According to the National Shooting Sports Foundation 8.4 million people bought a gun for the first time in 2020.

Townhall reported:

Joe Biden would force semiautomatic rifle owners to either participate in a gun buyback program, or register their firearm under the National Firearms Act, which requires the payment of a $200 tax. This would extend to AR-15s and other common household rifles. Those who do not comply would face up to 10 years in federal prison, and a potential $10,000 fine.
This is yet another violation of Joe Biden’s pledge against any tax increase on anyone making less than $400,000 a year. In fact, it would hit working class Americans the hardest.
As detailed on Biden’s campaign website, this proposal would give semiautomatic rifle and high capacity magazine owners two choices: participating in a gun buyback program or registering said guns and magazines under the National Firearms Act. This triggers the $200 tax for each gun and magazine registered.
In order to register a firearm (or a magazine, under Joe Biden’s plan), you have to send in a 13-page, complicated application form with the $200 tax included, your fingerprints, and a photograph of yourself. In this way, the hurdles to legally own your weapon or high-capacity magazine go far beyond the expensive tax.

There's also apparently some sort of law prohibiting the ATF from creating a database (don't remember it exactly); but don't expect anyone to put up a fight against this bullshit.

I fully expect the GOP + Manchin to kill this in the senate at the very least, if it even gets that far. Stuff like this isn't meant to pass, it's meant to show the Democrat base that Biden is trying to live up to his campaign promises or some crap. The actual thing to be worried about is the possibility of a watered down version of this bill(federal background checks and a 100 dollar tax, for example)being passed instead.

Well this won’t make it through Congress, so I can’t wait to see all the horrifying executive orders needed to make this a reality.
Executive orders are not some sort of magical "The president gets to do whatever he wants" trick. They can be and sometimes are struck down by the courts.

Exective orders aren't laws, they're mandates on how a law shall be enforced.

If there is no law to piggyback on, the EO is utterly worthless...

I'm just saying. Paying for a "kill my dog" sign seems kinda dumb. Like something an urban liberal dipshit who voted for Joe in the first place would do.
If it's the major metropolitan areas that wanted this crap to begin with then I'll happily live in the wilderness away from people period.

Reminds me of a story about a guy who built a 'zip gun' for like, $30 tops, and turned it in for the $100 they were offering. I'd have to try and dig the tale up though.

I know it's been attempted, but I don't know how successful it has been in the past.

Still, goes to show how ineffective trying to remove guns is. With the right knowhow building a simple firearm is well within the capabilities of a man with working hands and eyes. Plans for constructing a particular submachine gun have been on the internet for years.

Ammunition on the other hand, that's going to be harder to replace. I've thought for a while that regulating the hell out of ammunition was going to be far more effective in disarming citizens.

Retard president pushing retarded proposals, ain't nobody gonna be on board with this bullshit.

The guy already managed to piss off half the country with his oil pipeline shutdown, I honestly can't see him gaining much support here. Especially now that even some left leaning folks are getting armed for the first time. Yeah it ain't all conservative 1776 types after all.
But he has two hecking cute dogs!!!1!! :feels: :feels: and he wears..... colored socks??? OMFG :feels: :feels:

A capital idea. It makes me happy.
Sadly overpopulation might make that option not a reality anymore. No wonder they're promoting soy drinking and pod living.

I'd rather live in an old 1950s or 60s model of trailer in need of repairs than the most glamorous penthouse in Upper Manhattan, that's no joke. Gotta admit visiting cities can be fun once in a while, if you can afford it, but fuck being around millions of people and all that noise and crowds and shit.

And one more thing, the irony of people calling their opponents fascist while cheering on the push for more .gov overreach is the saddest thing ever.

I live in a low-density area. It's a reality. Whence do you think food cometh?
