During the 2020 campaign, Joe Biden announced he will force gun owners of “assault weapons” to either sell their weapons to the government or register them under the National Firearms Act.

According to Joe Biden’s plan in order to register a firearm, you have to fill out a complicated 13-page application form and include a $200 gun tax for each firearm you own.

Your fingerprints and a photograph of yourself will be required on the form.

This will be a difficult program to enact for the Biden regime. In 2020 a record number of Americans bought guns. According to the National Shooting Sports Foundation 8.4 million people bought a gun for the first time in 2020.

Townhall reported:

Joe Biden would force semiautomatic rifle owners to either participate in a gun buyback program, or register their firearm under the National Firearms Act, which requires the payment of a $200 tax. This would extend to AR-15s and other common household rifles. Those who do not comply would face up to 10 years in federal prison, and a potential $10,000 fine.
This is yet another violation of Joe Biden’s pledge against any tax increase on anyone making less than $400,000 a year. In fact, it would hit working class Americans the hardest.
As detailed on Biden’s campaign website, this proposal would give semiautomatic rifle and high capacity magazine owners two choices: participating in a gun buyback program or registering said guns and magazines under the National Firearms Act. This triggers the $200 tax for each gun and magazine registered.
In order to register a firearm (or a magazine, under Joe Biden’s plan), you have to send in a 13-page, complicated application form with the $200 tax included, your fingerprints, and a photograph of yourself. In this way, the hurdles to legally own your weapon or high-capacity magazine go far beyond the expensive tax.

There's also apparently some sort of law prohibiting the ATF from creating a database (don't remember it exactly); but don't expect anyone to put up a fight against this bullshit.

Fuck that. People are just going to either not give a shit and hide their guns or resort to more creative methods of ranged weapons (crossbows, bows, throwing knives, whatever they can throw or aim at someone). Biden's just being a pain in the ass to good honest gun owners that want to protect their families without jumping through hoops.

Good, force all 1776 LARPers to admit they were full of shit all along.
"Muh-- muh boat--"
"Nigga shut the fuck up you ain't ever been on a boat in your life-- now open up, I'm finna take all your arms, and yes, that means I'm gonna take the ones you were born with, too. Chart says those are assault weapons."
"...okay..."

A little late on that, aside from used handguns and shotguns alot of places are out of stock and with the current ammo shortage you have 9mm rounds going for over a dollar each.
Well, if we were in a normal environment and Covid sales hadn't preemtpively emptied the shelves.

What was the compliance rate in New York when they started their last round of draconian bullshit? Something like 5%-10%? That's what will happen on a national level. The US Citizens who own most of the privately owned firearms already think that the election was stolen away from their candidate and the Federal Government is openly ignoring the rule of law. If the Government refuses to obey they law, then why should they?

Yep.
Husband bought an AR-15 recently, and the rounds are a bit over a dollar each.
I think that's how dems will sneak gun control past us, make the ammo prohibitively expensive.
I've told my husband he needs to invest in reloading equipment next.

In sleepy little Vermont bill S55 passed a while ago banning the sale of 10+ round rifle magazines. Every gun owner in the state refused to comply with the new legislation. Sure we couldn't buy them in Vermont but New Hampshire had no such law and magazines aren't serially tracked. Whole lotta good that law did aside from drive business into another state.

Another Assault Weapons Ban would just drive the industry underground after killing domestic arms manufacturers. Prohibition didn't kill the alcohol industry but it forced legal businesses out of business, meaning the Mob was the only game in town.

Most gun owners are conservative and conservatives on the whole are mistrustful of the current administration. I doubt many of them will comply with new legislation. If push came to shove I'd expect a lot of Ruby Ridges and Waco's to happen in the next 4 years.

And here I thought Biden was the one with dementia. The entire United States government seems to have forgotten that the Coof pandemic along with the death of George Floyd were things. Things that, by the way, caused conservatives and liberals alike to think "Gee, maybe the people who force me to pay taxes in exchange for maintaining order... might not be capable of maintaining order."

>Year of riots, sabotaged covid response, and a election that a huge number of people think was fraudulent.
>All intents and purposes, ban guns a year later.
>How many cops per year do you need to bury in order to enforce this, who are all ready in short supply.

I wonder if the buyback is going to be a "immunity" kind where you get a minimum amount of cash for any semi auto weapon legal or not brought in. legally the only part of the gun is the lower. Swamp the buyback with 3d printed lowers if you get that immunity window and a minimum amount of cash.

Retard president pushing retarded proposals, ain't nobody gonna be on board with this bullshit.

The guy already managed to piss off half the country with his oil pipeline shutdown, I honestly can't see him gaining much support here. Especially now that even some left leaning folks are getting armed for the first time. Yeah it ain't all conservative 1776 types after all.

Reminds me of a story about a guy who built a 'zip gun' for like, $30 tops, and turned it in for the $100 they were offering. I'd have to try and dig the tale up though.
