The fact that there's zero accountability on avatars and advertising and the mods have no way of tracking who bought what is the best part of SA. The way these entitled faggots howl and screech when someone draws a bit of graffiti on their hugbox makes for incredible content and is excellent schadenfreude. It also makes their community worse and less enjoyable for them, so I am absolutely for it.

It legitimately demoralizes them sometimes, as they spend days or even weeks seething and speculating about who could dislike them enough to defame their honor. Sometimes they check out and don't post for weeks. It's pathetic but also hilarious.

SomethingAwful used to be, a long, long time ago, one of those sites where a lot of the people that posted there didn’t give a shit about what others think. However once edgy trolling was no longer considered “cool” a lot of the members had trolls remorse and ended up appealing to the Tumblr crowd. And now, years later, here we are.

I'm mainly referring to the clique that was around the WDDP thread who pretty much all became the spearhead of modern cancel culture. Though, the other reason is that it was the thing that started to turn SA into this cop planet mentality that seems to be everywhere these days.

Also, not to overanalyze here, but note that Jeff-o says in there in the 2nd paragraph "100% unrelated to the initial transaction with Lowtax". Interesting word choice that seems to imply there are further payments. There is also no "forums store" money going to lowtax, but he doesn't discuss ad revenue.

But what do I know?
