I personally think the data from posters themselves is what is being sold. Undoubtably they're also getting money for pushing wokeism by corporate interests who see a profit in it and/or wish to promote it politically.

There's a sub on saidit called "Against Hate Subreddits" that has a bunch of links and screenshots. Here's the video people circulated about AHS mods purposely posting CP on subs in order to "justify" banning them later. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TG8xWJaJO-c

Go on twitter and check out the "#reddithateswomen". You'll probably find screenshots and threads about subs regarding women/LGB/lesbians/detrans people being taken down via trickery. I'd link some here but I closed my Twitter account.

Market research companies already view social media users and content as worthless for conducting any kind of useful research on public opinion. It's so full of bots and garbage "content" that it's practically random noise. Phone and internet surveys (generated and hosted by cranky, clunky proprietary software) with carefully selected sample and unique URLs per respondent -- not the random "4chan finds the survey link and teaches dumb marketing firm about Hitler" stuff -- remain the most effective methods for conducting useful research, much to big tech's chagrin. It all happens without big tech's involvement and they fucking hate it because they can't control or directly influence it.

Source: worked for a market research company for many years that evaluated using Twitter and Reddit for market research, looked at the content, lol'd, quietly turned off the firehose and never looked back. The clients never complained.

The hedge fund had to get a "rescue" cash injection of over $2 billion from their friends in response to this, so I'd say Reddit did a pretty good amount of damage to it. $2 billion slipping through their fingers into the "wrong" pockets (i.e. not theirs) as they play their own stock manipulation games really pisses them off, and they're legitimately panicking about it. You can tell by all the articles and news reports about it, all attacking reddit as "manipulating" the stock market as if it were actually illegal somehow. The media gambit is paying off, too -- a coworker of mine is convinced the feds are going to "make an example" of the handful of people on reddit who started that whole GME "buy and hodl" thing. Because apparently saying "hey I'm buying this stock and you should too because X" on a public forum is illegal now or something.

Sorry in advance for the autistic rant but I needed to get this off my chest

I've recently been getting into gender critical feminism, and one of the most upsetting things about the Reddit troon cult is that most so-called "TERFS" aren't actually transphobic, but the mass censorship will drive many of them down a dark path, and they will become actual transphobes. That is not our goal. I don't hate trans women. I don't believe they are women, but I still think they should have basic human rights and I'm not going to misgender someone IRL because I'm not an asshole. Transitioning is to gender dysphoria what lobotomies were to other forms of mental illness. Why would I hate you for having a mental illness?
