/r/wsb autists taking on a wallstreet hedgefund. Elon musk involved as always / wallstreetbets / gamestop - Gamergate 2: financial boogaloo

Shitvestors have already won. Brokerages gonna break the law every time some institution shorts and gets fucked by retail shitvestors going long? They'll be doing it every day then. This is a real big probrem Wall Street has and it's not going away. There's enough willing capital out there to do this over and over again with any stonk that some idiot in Manhattan tries to do a big short on.

That's why they're begging the SEC to DO SOMETHING about these revolting plebs! Tomorrow at the latest the calls for Congress to DO SOMETHING will start. This is a textbook wedge issue aimed right at the groin of both parties. Do Democrats abandon the plebs they've spent 90 years saying they're for in favor of the super rich that dominate the party now? Do Republicans abandon the plebs that they say are the party's backbone now for "capitalism"?

They don't lack self awareness - they're controlled opposition. Why else do you think their antics are allowed to slide.
their leaders are controlled op yes but what i was refereeing is that their followers are literally NPC mindless drones, if you live in a libshit state you would see first hand how much people become brainwashed

I am, however, pointing out that if White House is really involved, then there will be absolutely no political will to actually go through with any sort of punishment, and I can almost see the obscure procedural issues that will be brought up to grind the entire process to a halt.
The White House is regularly sued, and some of these lawsuits are originating in state courts.
If the WH has directly involved itself in mandating that these exchanges freeze for GME and related stocks and it comes out, those suits can make the WH party. These are frequently settled outside of court, but it would still be a way to put the screws on the WH - and a reason the WH would be hesitant to put its hand in the cookie jar.

Although the President appoints commissioners on the SEC, they don't owe him any loyalty and the president cannot fire them.
I should also call attention to the fact that "my dad works at nintendo" is our current source on the WH claim.

This is something you cannot ever forget. Yeah the elites may be powerful. But they are not united. There are tons of smaller and larger factions, each with their own goals. Sometimes these goals overlap, sometimes they don't. But the elites are not united, and they are not all-powerful.
No I am saying for those who want to "fight the power" need to unify the people. The problem is "the people" are comprised of opposing factions. Anti fa. Proud Boys. Libertarians. Fascists. Commies.

The key to erasing these differences (and getting a unified front) is provoke the elites into hammering them all equally.

Thats classic guerilla theory.

So keep antagonizing the suits after this is done. Troll them any way you can. This wall street bets things shows us how they react and such reactions are not in their favor.

C'mon, man! It's not like a President has ever got in trouble just for a single behind-the-scenes phone call like that...

Possible Lehman brothers style collapse in the financial market.
Unless they do this to Silver like they discussed (which isn't going to happen now that the feds and wall street are watching), we aren't going to see a collapse.

Lex, shut the fuck up with your retarded centrist "I know better than you" shit for once.

Don't you have people to fight in a parking lot or something?
'Centrist'

Pretty sur the faggot is a commie. He gets almost as pissed if you shit talk them as he does when people trash pedos.

Robinhood has been a shit company for years. They've had scandal after scandal, yet people still use them. The free market should help them out with their demise, if you know what I mean.

Speaking of AOC and her "turn to good"?

It's gone. You had it right for a hot moment, too.
Late as fuck, but many lefties are just as tired of AOC's histrionic shit as the right is. It sucks wanting to have a fair market and not be fucked by the rich all the time, yet the only thing the left seems to be able to vote in are doing-nothings or melodramatic do-nothings. Hopefully Biden doesn't fuck this all up and bailout the hedgefunds. Everyone's beyond tired of this shit.

The first major crisis of the Biden Administration is to stop self-professed autists from buying Gamestop stock. lol I thought things were going back to normalcy?

Yes; Honestly the only real question at this point as how much longer this will continue before it is completely shut down and/or how bad the backlash from the aftermath will be.
