I think they have a very strong advantage, that being that the profit motive is already an inherent factor, grifters have to compete with people who are FAR more competent at making money and are ingrained in a community based on the concept. Ensuring mod purity is the priority.
Right.

GamerGate's biggest problem is they never picked a target or goal, it was so widespread with opticscuck (dumb shit like donating to charity, as if the media fucking cares about that or will ever acknowledge that), so you have grifters lead the pack.

Unlike GamerGate, there's a clear criteria of success: money. The ones that's shake enough tendies will hopefully rise to the top (assuming no mod bullshit).

I obv prefer 4chan, but this is where reddit shines. On 4chan you have a high signal-to-noise ratio such that only the smart people will be able to distinguish bullshit from gold, which is great for stuff like political debate. But with things that need a mass adoptions (like stonks), you cannot have a forum where someone screams to short Telsa while another is strategizing to do a short squeeze.

Janet Yellen accepted $810,000 in speaking fees from Citadel, owner of Robinhood.

Reporter: Are there any plans to recuse herself from advising the President on GameStop and Robinhood situation?

Psaki: ‘No and she’s an expert and deserves that money.’
