I mean, yeah, they have entire multi-point mocap hook-up rigs with "power gloves" used for effects and expressions, plus tracking cameras, and high-end PCs on top of all that, that have to be able to run all the software fluidly. Coco asked management sometime last Summer, I think it was, how much one mocap rig alone cost (not even accounting the PC and motion trackers), and it was somewhere around $3000. And that was the old tech, the new stuff they use is probably way more expensive. Now, is it impossible that Coco managed to actually buy some off of management? Definitely not, seeing how much money she made last year and how she's a NEET and doesn't buy anything besides makeup and Adidas clothes.
I think it literally the same with L2D but with just 3D avatar and wider position tracking, so you can move left and right for quite a bit more. It still won't track them turning back or moving out of camera.
