Yeah, the hyperbole in this thread is the exact reason I don't follow it, the hateboner for Razor is such that he could say anything reasonable or ubiquitous and it's automatically assmad or embarrassing for the simple fact that it's him saying it. And when he does say something questionable, it makes any reasonable response appear prejudiced.

He's worse he's a basic bitch hiding behind the guise of contrarian faggot. For him to try to play hipster when his whole schtick is based off the most over saturated and samey section of metal is ridiculous.

It's like some guy in a sex pistols shirt from hot topic trying to tell everyone else how not punk they are.

Really the idea of being a metal hipster especially is bunk cause there is always someone who knows way more obscure stuff than you especially if like razor your comfort zone is in big commercial NWOBHM acts and the absolute losers who try and resurrect that style in the present day.

Fair enough, I disagree with his opinions on Metal (Pantera's 90s work is better than their 80s work), I just begrudge the implied notion that since his opinion is fervently purist (not an atypical opinion on Metal, by the way, Iron Liz is like this too) that it must be some façade he puts on to seem authentic.

Wait, he actually thinks 80s pantera is better than 90s pantera? I only watch his political videos. When it comes to his music and video game opinions, I roll my eyes.

Oh dude no I wasn't saying that at all in fact I look at him with disdain cause this was the way I acted as a 15 year old metalhead.

Though I would say in some ways those people are fake cause they are more concerned with which guitarist was most technically skilled or which drummer had the fastest blast beat or who paved the way for who. You rarely hear them talk about the way the music actually made them feel or any truely relatable sentiments from these types. It's just numbers shit which appeals to a lot of metalheads cause a lot of them are austists who are just attracted to the edge factor and ability to say "I don't care if you don't like my music cause when you add up all the time signatures they actually solve the fermi paradox" or some shit.

If you went through the 2000's listening to metal and aren't of the opinion that it is over now I don't know what to tell you. It's done it's over and it was never meant to last it was to logical conclusion to rock and roll and it's over now. So people still trying to present that image in some ways do give me a fake vibe

So I guess my complaint is really that he doesn't have enough cred to be acting like he does. He thinks he's Scum in the early 90's but he's really modern day Amon Amarth.
