Star Wars Griefing Thread (SPOILERS) - Safety off

2: Itchy found another High Republic image containing info on the "Phase 1 timeline" of High Republic, of all the crap they initially had planned for 2020. Imagine all of that shit in just a few months if Corona had let them have their way.

Just think what Phase 2 will look like.
It's the MCU applied to books, they saturate the market and expect people to consoom all their products. The only difference is that there is little interest in the project.
Like I said in another thread, Disney/LF couldn't make a single decent movie, they couldn't make a coherent trilogy. Do they really think that they can pull off an entire new era of SW while spliting the story on different medium from comics to YA novels that don't share the same audience?

Games Workshop did quite well with the Horus Heresy series. 56 books, a plethora of audio dramas, and a graphic novel that was all cohesive. Books related to a specific character or faction were somewhat isolated, so if you didn't give a shit about the Dark Angels, you didn't have to read their books. And there were plenty of anthologies with great stories and one-off novels that weren't essential to the overall plot. The character arcs remained somewhat consistent even with multiple writers working on the same characters. And through this series, Games Workshop was able to develop a game exclusively about this series and get the gamers, painters, and modelers involved in the Horus Heresy brand.

Star Wars is going to be dead on arrival with the High Republic, or least dead within a few business quarters because I guarantee you that they will not make the story arcs isolated and will require that anyone invested in the story will have to buy all of the products. On top of the story not going to have long term investment because they will not set up the universe. No possible avenues for fans to explore other parts of the galaxy, no intriguing background information, because if I remember, the entire plot takes place in an unexplored part of the galaxy. So unlike the Horus Heresy, which sets up that the story we read is a fraction of the events in the galaxy, High Republic will give readers nothing to explore outside of what is planned for the next book.

So this is going to be like Marvel's comic crossover events like Onslaught, Civil War, etc., right?
As in there is the main books, but there's also the tie-in books from the other titles in the brand.
I bought the Onslaught omnibus a few years ago and I was taken aback at how incohesive some of the comics collected were.
If High Republic is going to be like that, the Clone Saga will look like the Odyssey.

So basically, they did what the old SWEU did with things like the GCW, Clone Wars, and other eras of SW?

In other words, they'll go the 343 Industries route where you have to read each piece of media in order to make sense of it all. And to top it off, it's being written by SJW snowflakes who couldn't make a good story even if one dropped from the heavens onto their laps.

Even with GOOD expanded material, I don't like being forced to read everything just to make sense of something. Why the hell would anyone expend the effort for expanded material that might not even be good?

Fuck, the TCW movie is going to look positively Shakespearean compared to this nonsense.

Hollywood been like that
These people are never going to learn that calling your intended customers names won't make them like your product.
Problem is most people unless they personally get visited by the Mouse who then precedes to skull fuck them in every way possible including physical, are on perma default mode of "must CONSOOM Disney."

And it's even funnier to see SJWs become corporate shills. It really goes to show how hollow their anti-corporate message is when all the corporation needs to do is to virtue-signal to get these leftist cranks to become their propaganda arm.

Of course, being their propaganda arm doesn't mean financially supporting them. SJWs would rather pirate things and save money rather than spend it on merchandise that panders out to them like SJW comic books or toys from SJW films. Which is why woke comics and toys from woke films are filling landfills.

There's a Disney shill on Twitter who made some infographics about the evil Fandom Menace™.

The only thing they got right is Doomcock is full of shit.

But I can actually believe that this was made by an employee of Disney disguised as a shill, because that's just something they desperately spam to pretend there's any actual interest.

Doomcuck.pngAbout the only solid point is including Doomcock for being a bullshitter and pointing out Midnight's insistence on continuing to use Doomcock as a valid source despite Dumbcuck never being right about anything ever (I still watch Midnight's content but he really needs to drop Doomcock before his reputation is permanently smeared because of him). And Geeks and Gamers will just say anything for popularity points, like how he shilled for TLJ initially but then had to watch it 4 more times to "finally understand why people hated the movie" when he realized hating on TLJ was the more trendy opinion and he just reports shit while offering sources to the articles he checks, so its hardly part of the fake rumor mill. SW Girl and Clownfish are harmless and just read news articles rather than make up rumors, which is lazy but its useful for people who have no time to read whole articles and just turn on their videos for background noise while doing something else. All in all, I think pre-Disney fans and Disney Wars fans can at least agree that Doomcock and others like him can go suck a lemon. The man will do or say anything if he thinks it will get him more subscribers.

As for that second chart, it reminds me of the ones I used to see on the cesspit that was /swco/ years ago. I remember 4chan/co/ used to make bullshit charts and compilations like this all the time back in 2014 until 2016 because of their massive boner for Disney to the point where they were the birthplace of many of the bullshit discussion and arguing points used by Disney drones today along with being the origin of the false claims about Disney's nucanon being more consistent to the point where even people here on the farms believed their claims, like "Chuck Wendig isn't bad, its just a bunch of /pol/acks angry that he included real diversity in SW for the first time" or "Disney's nucanon has been incredibly consistent now unlike that silly old EU, just read BleedingCool if you don't believes us! The new Battlefront is even better than the crappy old one", and nobody bothered to question their bullshit even after it spread to the other boards and the rest of the net until TLJ and EAfront II came along and finally broke the rose tinted glasses and snapped people back to reality. And I don't blame people for falling for it as it shows just how large in numbers and quick to act /co/ posters are, but then again they're called /co/mblr for a reason and they would use political buzzwords like sexist, racist or /pol/ack to manipulate bleeding hearts by making it look like criticism was because of partisan nonsense rather than franchise fuckery and cheap quality content. The now "retired" Pablo Hidalgo would also frequently answer questions from posters there about nucanon (I recall some even mentioned that he secretly posted there which wouldn't be surprising) and make all sorts of bullshit claims about what Lucas approved and what Lucasfilm had planned for the future (which are all deleted now along with his account being locked from the public eye). Funny thing is, those hypocrites, for all the bashing they made on "sexists and EU drones", would've probably been even more buttflustered than the critics if Disney had done away with TCW.

Anyway onto some minor news:

Minor News:
1612024917142.png
It appears they've only now finally started getting ready to shoot the Mexican Katarn/Rogue One show.
Sets are apparently finished and they got the greenscreens ready and the actors have apparently been on the go the past week. Looks like they're going to Tatooine or have a Tatooine knockoff... again. The Bespin Bulletin has posted more pics from the set apparently, along with posts regarding the KOTOR remake, as they're the source of the original claims and they've had a consistent track record. They don't like nucanon anymore but they still report on it because its fun to dig up info and because it gets them mad views. Unsurprisingly, some of the commenters are hoping the KOTOR remake tells the "true and canon" story of KOTOR rather than be a faithful remake... Oh joy.

Finally, Disney-Lucasfilm Press announced another "Myths and Fables" book.
For those who don't remember or know, Myths is a book series by Disney that tells "canon" stories but with a mythical narrative tone, with the first book being some shitty retelling of previous stories and lore cheapening and the second being a shittier Halloween-themed one that gave us a hook lightsaber, Gollum in Star Wars and some weird shit about some alien sith no one ever heard of putting a girl in his brain. Among many other details I covered in this thread before, but I erased from my mind for the sake of my own sanity.
Fuck now I remember this shit... It also had some Galaxy's Edge shilling.

This third book though is "Holiday themed" around Life Day of all things. Why is Disney suddenly so interested in milking the Holiday Special like its some sort of "deepest lore"? Even the most militant EU nerds made fun of that shit.
1612023467704.jpeg

And its also High Republic themed for some unholy reason and stars that jedi that @Marissa Moira pointed out that looked like Jesus Christ himself...
Its all so tiresome.

Also any bets on this new KOTOR remake being turned into a High Republic game or getting the sequel tie-in treatment?

What the fuck is with Disney and these faggy ass sword hilts they keep forcing on lightsabers? I mean yes, cool and custom lightsaber hilts were definitely a thing in the EU but they all had a FUNCTIONAL design and aesthetic, none of this weird ass shit that Disney is doing that looks weird as hell.

Fun fact: since you mentioned that the origin point is from /co, then I KNOW for a fact that they were at least in part LFL and Disney employees, because it's stupidly easy to pull off and it's a common as hell tactic on a site where everyone can be anonymous with the most basic OpSec. It's similar to how Reddit commonly has employees keep control over those particular subreddits they infiltrate and command over.

Also they need to use other planets than bootleg Tatooine. It's becoming all too boring and expected that that's the design they always rip off.

Bet you a dozen Krispy Kreme glazed donuts that part of it has to do with licensing. That all the cylinder style sabers, a pretty penny goes to Lucas while the Nu-SW goes to Disney.

Its definitely possible. For comparison, crossguard sabers did exist before Disney, but they looked nothing like the ones now and only had one additional smaller blade that protected the exposed fingers (giving it a sort of a checkmark shape) and it was only used by one guy as his customized model.
1612028334642.png

Only other instance of a crossguard saber was a single one from a panel of an old comic that was half buried in the snow and that was it. These new elaborate and more sword-like sabers are different enough that they could actually avoid paying any royalties to Lucas if saber designs were part of the deal.

Also I'm gonna make a genuine stupid bet. If that KOTOR remake turns out to be a faithful adaptation of the original with good graphics, solid gameplay and no Disney shit, I will rename myself Aphra's bitch, change my avatar to Dr. Aphra and suck Kennedy's femdick for a month while riding with Joe/Harris (and Iger if he's in politics by then). If I lose, I can at least enjoy a faithful return to a classic game with an updated look, and who knows, maybe dooming myself may lead to something good happening for once. A most selfless sacrifice I'm sure...

Somebody screencap this if need be.

Might as well rename yourself now. We know how this ends.

A KOTOR remake turning out faithful to the original and good? Highly unlikely. So my name is probably safe. And if I'm wrong and it turns out to be everything I could hope for and more, well at least all of us will be happy even if I won't be able to show it.
I don't think they're stupid enough to fuck with something as beloved as KOTOR. It is probably the most popular Star Wars game ever made.

Then again we live in Clown reality so anything is possible I guess.
