General Discussion for Virtual Youtubers / Vtubers / Chuubas - it's okay to be a simp for 2D, just don't thirstpost.

Found it on the now archived Ina thread. Was Ayame the based one all along?

On a more fun note: If you're a NicoNico sub to Canan like I became this month because you were curious this is my new religion devoid of physical human contact in this brave new shithole, she is putting the work in today isn't she?
Canan hustles super fucking hard, I respect her a lot. She maintains two separate personas with a boatload of followers on each (obviously there's....overlap) and consistently puts out content.

Also, full disclosure and no shame, I'm subbed to her NN and her Fantia. I just wish she'd do, like, actual ASMR once in a while instead of the "ear-licking," which is just code for "blowjob noises" for anyone who didn't already know, stuff.

Artemis is a indie vtuber that weaseled his way into the scene hard via shekels and using Domo to over hyper himself, his main gimmick is being a unfunny "im gay look at me" twat on twitter, being a bootleg (he debuted a little after Holomyth was announced using his avatar that is a shark like gura) and simping Hololive hard, several Kiwis and autistic detectives inmediately noticed that his streams are more him filling time to paddle his resume to try in the big leagues, that is why he simp hard Hololive with red superchats, the problem is that he overplayed his hand one time in a Kiara stream, his autist raided the chat and he had to apologize to her, more hilarious thing? Kiara believed it was Gura on chat and not him
I remember I followed Artemis on Twitter not long after "she" first popped up, obviously thought the model was exceptional, enjoyed the short, shitposty, meant-to-show-off-the-model video clips "she" was putting up. It was all pretty fun. Then came the question of when the fuck "she" was gonna debut. "She" did an assload of networking, talking "her"self up, getting Domo The Homo onboard to hornypost back and forth with, kept raking in the followers. Then, debut delays. Multiple weeks, for no specified reason. Okay, fine, ironing out the details. maybe doing practice streams with friends on unlisted videos, who knows? The constant, and I do mean constant hornyposting and memeing with Domo and his ilk was gay and was starting to turn me off but the model was really nice and the hype had reached a fever pitch so why not just stick around and check it out?

Then the debut comes. Won't even mention the obvious troon voice, that's irrelevant. The personality sucks, played fucking Minesweeper of all goddamn things, fumblebumbled the whole time, made that "gamers" comment we all know, just horrendous. What was the debut postponement for? Then it all started coming together - The memes, the hornyposting, the networking, delaying the debut, the overhyping. The troon KNEW it had the personality of a bale of hay and wouldn't be able to keep an audience from the debut unless it had already built it up massively ("too big to fail," if you will) and used that strategy.

Then what I'm still pretty sure were follower-bots on the YT subs immediately after the debut. The growth was way too fucking fast, no way in hell it was 100% legitimate, and why not? Obviously had the money to throw at that top-tier model and rig job, is it so farfetched that they'd use some of that trust fund, or whatever it is, to buy a few thousand scores of follower bots? Nah, not really.

...and now to add to all that we have the recent controversies like the infamous being caught watching the rebroadcast of BtS and yadda yadda, we all know.

Sorry for the diatribe but Artemis is what made me really realize that the indie EN scene is 98% shit, and not just the wanna-be 'tubers themselves, anyone involved in it, even "community influencers" like Domo and those like him, too.

Anyone got some music recommendations similar to this for me? I've been enjoying most of the holo music recently but this track in particular fucking bangs. I even had to go check out Reine's stream, I didn't realise the ID girls had such good English, Reine in particular sounds completely fluent, even if the content is a bit milquetoast.

Anyone feels like Matsuri is slowly becoming "irrelevant", for lack of a better word?
Last year the big names were Coco, Fubuki and Matsuri, a fuckload of people were clipping and translating her videos, but as of June or so I've noticed that the amount of Matsuri clips have started to appear less and less on my social medias

A part of me wants to believe that her unhinged fans scared the clippers away, thus crippling her growth
or maybe she is THAT boring and people got tired of her "eternally horny" personality (which Marine pulls way better)

I'd say it's the nature of their content. Not every stream will have viral moments.
What was Matsuri doing lately? Apex. That's niche. And she even got flak for it.
I think she'll be fine.

I forgot these existed until they came up on my playlist at work today so I thought I’d share them.

This was made right after her debut and he did an awesome job imo. Cleaned up the vocals so there’s no talking and is just the lyrics. Also remastered the music itself so it’s not just in the background but is actually matching the volume of the singing.

Same thing, made right after debut. Again, he cleaned up the vocals and took out any unnecessary talking other than hype noises that Gura made. And instead of the shitty karaoke version it’s actually the music from the singles version. The single and album versions of the song are slightly different, but I’m not that autistic to go into it.

Edit: I think he took Happy Synthesizer down cause it isn’t on his page SoundCloud anymore but when I accessed it through the twitter link it worked so I’ll just do that.

i only stated the truth tho, why ding dong bannu?
4chan's banning for racism now? Dear lord

EDIT: And wouldn't you know it, after the bans go out, the jannies (most likely) flex by posting more of Artemis. Sad!

This really is the most fun I've had on 4chan in years. What an evening.
Still nothing about her streams or antics. Just the same tired "She cute" "I love her" comments as always. Even her simps can't think of anything to say about her.

I got mixed feelings about SE and Ina.
On one hand, I hope she gets permission to stream FFXIV, if anything for shits and giggles.
But on the other hand... It's FFXIV, a game filled with deranged people and sociopaths, and the idea of cramming all Takodachis on a single FC seems like a recipe for disaster.
You ain't kidding about XIV. No idea what it is, but some real mental cases come from that game. A combination of clout chasing and simpery would really make those streams difficult to watch. Since the game is public, it'd be difficult to have her walk anywhere or do anything without a hoard chasing her about. The best she could do is sit in an inn and queue up for raids.

The West just seems to do everything worse. I'm not surprised. The Indie EN scene is verbatim what I was concerned HoloEN would be. Thank god for Japanese professionalism.

Jesus this thread moves quick.

Well, REDSHiFT also worked on this:

Looks like they do mainly vocaloid stuff, a lot of it you can find on soundcloud:
Similar stuff would be Japanese hardcore or other vtuber music. Spotify has a lot of vtuber playlists you can check out, but Japanese hardcore playlists might be a bit much for someone just getting in. REDALICE or Camelia might be up your alley:
Oops:
His Youtube channel seems to be nothing but Hololive remixes these days.

Someone like this getting 1000 views on twitch.
Damn. These aren't vtubers, these are wannabe vthots.
Men can be such suckers.

Also, that voice has a certain quality that another blue mouth thing exibits.
Holy fuck how can someone be THAT boring? There's 0% energy or passion, sounds like a depressed math teacher

I, uh, actually didn't know this. I'm not innocent, not by a long shot, but all this time I just assumed having a girl go to town on your ear hole like an anteater was a common fetish in Japan.

Surely it takes less effort to learn to be decently entertaining than to organize all this buildup and fanfare. Not everyone is a natural at it, to be sure, but if >she were to do a self-examination, see what their strengths and weaknesses are, and practice commentating and socializing in a way that's natural to them, then maybe they could make it work.

Of course, people who want to be genuine don't troon out.

A couple more music recommendations with thread cross-appeal:
KMNZ is a little more club/rap, but good stuff:

And Nanahira with denpa sound:

I actually got into nip shit from IIDX/DDR so this is totally my jam, exactly what I wanted, thanks!

A lot of Polka's covers back when she was Oda Nobuhime or even the Utaite "Mega" are pretty banging. See her cover of Gurenge below.

As far as the ID girls are concerned, I know the only reason I don't watch them is they tend to stream in the deep morning for my timezone, so I just simply miss them. Moona and Reine tend to stray in my regular hours the most. Reinie (along with the rest of the ID Gen2) are trying to find their groove, but she seems to be settling in the "slightly awkward, dorky older sister" type. She seems to know her technology, and the first time I caught her going on a tangent about mechanical keyboards for damn near 10 minutes really caught me off guard. She REALLY knows her stuff with them.
Well, now I've got my playlist queued up.

4chan's banning for racism now? Dear lord
As cliche as it is, 4chan REALLY took a dive when Gamergate started up. That was when moot was getting cucked by some Radfem from Gawker, and he himself started 'regretting' 4chan. He started being more laissez faire with Admin/Janitor access, and trannies/tumblrites slowly took over parts of it. There are some places where it's still pretty OG 4chan ( /pol/ and /biz/ as an example) but some places are full tilt trannie jannie infestations.

man, valky, i liked her before she become a whiny bitch, like "uhhhh wakka racist, wakka super racist" stfu retard
Hold, now this interests me. For the longest time I thought Valk and Calli where the same person until I stumbled onto DemonDice (also saw a comment on Reddit saying she deleted everything to apply to HololiveEN months before HoloEN was announced, and she had an amazing singing voice). Whatever happened to her? Last I checked she posted a video on FFX and a few days later wipes her channel clean (shame because she had some amazing Drakengard and Nier videos). Haven't even seen her show up on Shenpai's or another streamer's from their clique's streams.

Also Wakka jokes are at their most funny when they're at their most racist. God bless Twobesfriendsplays for jumpstarting the Grand Wizard Wakka meme. :semperfidelis:

Just because people overseas don't get a lot of exposure from Matsuri doesn't necessarily mean she doesn't get it from Japanese viewers. She's still in the top 10 Super Chat earners. Granted, she's part of Gen 1, but her most SC'd video was her Apex Gacha one from a little over a month ago.

And I honestly think it's a bit of the opposite of your latter statement, in that she toned down the hornyness, meaning less clipable material. I personally think she's fine. Though, if she were to stream on her RL channel more often I think she'd pretty much explode in popularity on there without having Hololive taking a substantial amount of her SC's.

Another karaoke stream from Rion. Her singing voice is really soothing. And the princess gown makes her look very nice.
Chigusa had a karaoke stream, the best part of which was her cover of Hikaru Nara around 47 mins.
and Patra did anime covers. Her version of You Get to Burning and Dango Daikazoku are both good, but her Sweets Parade is excellent. She sounds just loke Kana Hanazawa.

also, if Youtube doesn’t stop running ads mid song, I’m going to build their headquarters in Minecraft and then burn it down.

Yes, the last part is basically the cause of the recent lack in Matsuri clips.

Anything not translated/clipped by him, he considers trash and "doesn't represent the Vtuber. He has made it his personal crusade to make sure no other person can make Matsuri clips.
