You know, a lot of people bring up Idiocracy as the result of the left's ideal society, but honestly I think that's mostly wrong, based simply around the language in that movie. Most of it is swearing, corpspeak, or some type of slur. No, I'm not saying it's totally wrong, especially based on a lot of the stuff floating around the Internet, but I believe the best comparison is Demolition Man.
-Corps still hold a lot of power, and most of the surface people consoom. In fact, I think the guy who woke up Wesley Snipes was some billionaire technocrat if memory serves.
-The elites talk in an inoffensive and educated manner, but are so fucking stupid except for the dude at the top of the heap, and even he fucks up trying to get rid of the Resistance leader when his actual threat level was negligible to send a message to wrongthinkers. Remind you of any elected officials you know?
-Removing "unsanitary" flush toilets and replacing them with some seashell contraption is obvious result of China Virus Panic.
-The fucking fashion is the obvious result of troons running it into the ground. Especially since a lot of it is fancy mumuus and crazy hair.
-The language, especially with the childish adding of words to spare mental health. Murderdeathkill and baton-tons, anyone?
-Police and military being complete pussies so they're useless when an actual crime happens. Of course, somehow the entire population is incapable of committing real crime.
-Total elimination of lethal projectile weapons.
-Elimination of physical contact during romance is an obvious result of #metoo.
-Swear taxes. Hell, I bet they wish they could implement them now to curb people being "offended."
-Downloading "useful, harmless skills" into the cryoprisoners brains needs no explaination.
-The Underground People. It's like someone dug up Trump speeches and took them in the most retarded way possible. In fact, comparing their pathetic "resistance attempts" to the Capitol Break-In in that nothing was actually accomplished is shockingly apt.

As a former communist, it's not that exactly.
You know that line in Fight Club where Edward Norton is talking about his retarded apartment? It's like that, but for a more complex problem. "I thought that was the last couch I was going to ever have to buy again" or whatever the line is. It's taking something you don't really care about/understand, compartmentalizing and solving and simplifying it, just to keep yourself from having to think about it. You get the base conceptualization and everything follows effortlessly. And it's why it takes hold so young, in teens, at an age where they are trying to make sense of the world. It's also why they bleat on endlessly. You must keep sharing the story and reinforcing it through sharing.
You end up with a simple model which you can creatively play inside of and don't notice the "artwork" of your ideology becoming more and more idealized and divorced from reality. It's also why the hypocrisy and irrationality can happen without contradiction. It becomes a mental shorthand in a piece of fiction, something which can exist in an absurdity like Kafka or Vonnegut. But unlike them, it doesn't provide any insight, because you are IN the story and can't see the fact that it is only logically consistent inside the story. And even if it isn't there, you can flip to an opposite opinion in a second, because it is only the story.
After that, any retardation is reasonable -- women with cocks, child molestation, genocide -- it's all possible because inside the story, a piece of art, rationality isn't required.
I never articulated that before, but I think that is the process. I should have minded my Voltaire far earlier.

Agreed for the most part. The fashion is more like adopting the Japanese kimono so it's more like cultural appropriation.
Idiocracy is actually more like the Nazis showing a sci-fi dystopia. The cause of society's decay was malgenics and then indulging the mass consumption of the dumber members while the legit intelligent people self-selected themselves out of the gene pool. The movie ends with the same basic problem of Nacho's kids outbreeding Joe's. Although an interesting footnote is that President Comancho is a relatively fair leader who knows how to read a crowd. The second Joe got results, he stopped the rehabilitation. I have to say relatively because the institution of democracy itself favors dumb people and his leadership has to pace that stupidity to maintain consent.
