Community Tard Baby General (includes brain dead kids) - Fundies and their genetic Fuckups; Parents of corpses in denial

A lot of it is people who the only disabilities they've seen is "perfect angel" DS kids who are inspiration porn and make us all better people by their existence, and mild CP cases like the kid in Breaking Bad. "See they're acting, they're modeling! Choose life!"
Or, the "ableism" cries come from self-diagnosed Spoonies and Munchies who will tell you that they can better speak for the kid/fetus than the parent/prospective parent, and that it's ableism to compare a profoundly disabled kid to their struggle to get out of bed from their made up diseases.
I had a close friend who wanted an abortion when they found out their baby was going to have severe disabilities including ds (his sister is also mentally handicapped and his insane mother let her have a baby) and his wife's family harassed them to the point where she couldn't go through with the procedure since they wore here down enough to keep it.
Well, turned out the baby died before birth around the eighth month and instead of an abortion earlier on they got to have a stillbirth.

A lot of these fundies only see they high functioning DS kids that get the chance to grow up. Not the ones with even worse defects that need constant care and medical attention.

CPS doesn’t want any kids at all—they don’t like taking kids from their families and after all, putting them in the system is more work for them. But anyway, there are thousands of severely disabled kids in every state’s CPS system who are adoptable but beyond the skills and capabilities of most families.
CPS doesn't want to take kids even if they really should be taken. They're pretty notorious for doing nothing about kids in horribly abusive families. Disabled kids are even more likely to be abused and have CPS do nothing about it.

For CPS to actually take a kid some really, really fucked up shit must have gone down.

I mean, CPS is pretty useless and they will pretty much leave a kid with their family as much as possible.

I have a friend who used to be a foster care caseworker. About 50% of the parents she worked with had some kind of mental disability, sometimes MR but more commonly schizophrenia and/or bipolar disorder, and those kids usually went to relatives, often the same relatives who had been trying to get custody since before birth. The other 50% were - you guessed it - due to substance abuse issues, and those were the kids that usually ended up in "the system", on top of being disabled themselves from prenatal drug abuse and alcoholism.

A woman on another board whose son became profoundly disabled after birth (bacterial meningitis) placed him in a pediatric nursing home for a while. She said (and I've heard the same thing about other similar facilities) that you would think that the place had parents lined up down the street on visiting day? Nope. She said maybe 10% of the kids at the facility had any kind of outside contact, and also said, "Some of the parents dropped off their precious children, and never even called to see how they were doing." The saddest cases were the ones where the parents couldn't visit anyway, because they were in prison for trying to kill the child, which was how the child became disabled in the first place.

However, I wouldn't be so quick to judge. I used to know (she is now deceased) a woman whose son had the rarest kind of autism, the one where the child seems normal until age 2 1/2 and then retreats into themselves, and no known therapies help them to this day. He was living in a state institution in another part of the country, and she didn't visit but his father who lived in the area did, and he would keep her updated on how their son was doing. (She emphasized that their divorce was NOT because of having a disabled child, and said that it probably would have happened sooner if they hadn't.) It was just too painful for her to see him, when he didn't know who she, or anyone else, was.

My pet theory is that regressive autism is other genetic disorders, including ones we probably have discovered, but don't test for. So many get labelled autistic when in fact they have a genetic disorder causing autism, and I can only assume the regressive type is exactly the same.

I know of two families who had a child who was "autistic" but probably instead had some kind of metabolic disorder that led to autism-like symptoms.

One was an online friend whose son exhibited symptoms of severe autism from infancy, and when the gluten-free diet for autism was all the rage, decided to try it because they really had nothing to lose - and his symptoms improved so dramatically, all their doctors agreed that the autism thing was just a symptom. Last I heard (the website shut down) he was attending regular school with an aide, and as one could imagine, gluten was forbidden for him. It was treated like an allergy, which in a way it was.

Another was a woman at my old church who took her family to another congregation after the Sunday School teacher and other parents had a meeting with them, telling them that their "autistic" son couldn't be in the class with the other kids. He thought it was very funny to constantly pinch other children, and absolutely nothing would get him to stop doing this. Anyway, somebody recommended some kind of dietary supplement, and as she put it, "2 1/2 years of therapy did nothing compared to this." Most people would call it woo, but she certainly didn't. It was a powder that they would mix in his milk, and their doctors were trying to find out which ingredient he was deficient in so he could just take it if they couldn't get this supplement any more.

I hope Polish women will be able to get around the new abortion ban. The A&H crowd can REEEEEE about abortion all they want, no one should be forced to gestate and birth a brainless inside out cyclops baby.

I think even Saudi Arabia allows abortion for fetal abnormality. That said I'm sure they kinda have to given the cousin marriage thing and all the fucked up spuds it produces.
It's a fuckup of Catholic churc ran countries. See Ireland.. only recently allowed abortions after forever ban on them.. brainless, dead, broken, results ot rape, youth etcetc- no abortion! Mother's life came first too.. totally fucked up thinking and many know no other.. even after abortion was made available after all, still there are plenty of restarted doctors who won't refer.. blablabla your fetus has right to live.. huge business it was for near airports UK abortion clinics and loads of destroyed young woman trying to cause miscarriage.. others here they mourn for miscarried fetuses, do funerals and graves.. sick

And on the flip side, didn't the Catholic church in Ireland also run mother and baby home that were notorious for abuse and babies being neglected to death? And the dead babies were just chucked in mass graves, some of which had hundreds of dead babies unearthed?

Fundies wouldn't be fundies without massive hypocrisy I guess.

On the autism thing, there are absolutely other conditions that are commonly misdiagnosed as the 'tism. Jenny McCarthy's kid is heavily speculated to have one of them. On the flipside autistic women in particular are often misdiagnosed with other things before getting an autism diagnosis.

Not much, but have another review from a satisfied customer of the miscarriage coffin/fetus jar site. If the A&H crowd were actually able to cause a pregnancy I wonder if they'd do shit like this dude and buy a coffin for a miscarried embryo?

PKU sounds like. I know a kid who was diagnosed at birth (prick test) and parents were told if they don't maintain his diet he will have serious behavioural and disorders like autism etc and will end up total retard. It's the protein that fryes up the brain. So he has to count by grams whatever he eats and have special protein replacement daily.

Yep.. and pedo priests until recently was a thing because church is untouchable.. and who in the world will listen to abused kid, but holy asshole was one to trust

A child disabled because their parents tried to kill them...that’s awful. Do you know if it was mostly shaken baby syndrome or other stuff?

And now you’ve got the foster care cycle where there’s been two or three generations of girls who are in care, have kids young, get them taken away, and repeat.

Childhood disintegrative disorder, what was talked in post above, is so sad. Worked with a 21 year old woman with it she was in the clouds 95% of the time and when she did become as close to lucid as possible even then there was really no connection and she would seem so confused.

I've also worked with childrne disabled due to shaken baby syndrome and its sad. Even though midly effective and just delayed due to it will always be pretty much perpetual children in larger bodies. And their ability to executive function and learn is very effected.

No, it wasn't PKU. People with that can't metabolize phenylalanine, an amino acid, and it accumulates in their CNS and causes brain damage. Pearl S. Buck's daughter had it but wasn't diagnosed until she was middle-aged, at which time it was far too late to help her in any way. The protein replacement supplements are because it is impossible to get adequate protein without phenylalanine, on the diet. It used to be considered OK to go off the diet before adulthood, but many authorities recommend lifelong dietary therapy.

Those Irish "mother and baby homes" were also in the business of selling babies, in many cases.

That's correct. And fortunately in Ireland this special diet and metabolic clinic is almost free. Other countries seem not be as supportive and the special products and protein replacement are not available to buy or are extremely expensive.
There are small behaviour differences in this kid I know, but generally normal 7yo fearless kid.

The mother and baby homes and all the fucked up evil "sisters" unveiling a lot more eveey day.. crazy stuff

The mother and baby homes are a particularly extreme example, but it seems like fundies in general tend to treat kids like shit. See also the Quiverfull trainwrecks like the Duggars.

I've said before but I think the reason they obsess over fetuses and potatoes is because they can project whatever they want onto them and they aren't capable of rebelling or misbehaving like actual kids are.

Also before abortion there was a cottage industry in "baby farming." The baby farmers would just take the child off your hand for a small fee and then slowly starve them to death.

I suspect that for some of those people, it's to show off how 'religious' they are so people praise them. You won't see them doing this stuff with humility or keeping it low key, it's often on a platform and done as attention-gettingly as possible.

In the Bible it was done by the Pharisees with their praying and making sure everyone knew they were fasting, now it is having tons of kids on TV and making a big show about how religious you are.

I've never personally met anyone with PKU (that I know of) or encountered one in my practice, although there was a story in the newspaper a few years ago about some local meth-heads who were arrested for that, and their son, who IIRC was about 8 years old, had PKU but wasn't on the special diet, and was probably left permanently brain-damaged.

I think the funerals for miscarried embryos and dead baby FB pages might also be an example of that, at least for some people.

Here's a dead baby story that's not as cringy as the other ones I've found, but is related to the Downs discussion. The fetus died in utero pretty early on and had Downs. I guess it shows that even though Downs can be survivable, sometimes it leads to malformations too severe to be compatible with life.

Also yet another one named Bentley

Sounds like it had a clusterfuck of chromosome fuckups. Any medfags have any more info on those trisomies/deletions/whatever?

Basically the baby had no chance of survival whatsoever with that mix of additions and deletions, the 59 minutes was a miracle of itself. Trisomy 3 and 8 are so rare they don’t even really have a name outside of their medical classification. Most of the time these chromosome fuckups alone lead to retardation, growth delays and physical deformities, but yeah mixed all together that’s just completely incompatible with life.

Yeah I assume chromosome fuckery outside of downs and 13&18 is even more incompatible with life given how I don't really see it mentioned much in this kinda shit. I guess fetuses with it usually auto yeet early on.
