I think that shit got out of hand but I definitely believe the current state of things is artificial yeah. I remember like two months before the election in 2016 when the day came that the Clinton campaign finally settled on "they're actual Nazis!" after trying a handful of other tactics, 4chan was wall-to-wall aboriginal skull memes and hardcore hitlerposting overnight. Kids memory hole this shit but up until then it was always only semi-ironic and sporadic hitlerposting. This was as if someone flipped a switch.

I live in a major city and can count on 2 hands in 30 years how many times I seen someone being racist in a hateful manor its really not an issue in real life. So the internet is just a place for people to say naughty words like a pressure valve to blow off steam.

But I love how he slips in a comparison with the "harmful app" for women, Instagram. It really says something about how you view the sexes when you think one is mesmerized by hardcore number analysis and risk-taking, while the other is mesmerized by duck faced selfies and pictures of brunch.
