His reason for defending him was that some people still are emotional about star wars, and he understands that as much as he dislikes the new trilogy, he can't get mad at someone emotionally reacting to something when he was emotional at other star wars stuff. Jeremy at least seems to be consistent with his takes, even if you don't like them.

They liked that they were actually being given what they wanted for once instead of getting "subverted" and all that shit. As for Mando overall, it's not a masterpiece or anything, but it's serviceable. It definitely has issues, but I still think it's solid overall. The thing is that the majority of Disney's output up to this point has lowered expectations so much that in comparison to, say, the godawful sequel trilogy, Mando DOES look far better than it would when judged by itself. I agree with a lot of Mauler's opinions in general but I find the way he and his cronies are attacking Mando to be WAY over the top, basically declaring anyone who doesn't deem it objectively terrible as a braindead moron. Just feels like they have an axe to grind with Disney now due to how badly the sequel trilogy went and will shit on anything they put out from now on regardless of its actual quality.

Pretty much. A lot of youtubers in the "Fandom Menace" act like they're afraid of saying that it's a good show.
I like The Mandalorian, it's probably the only good thing that Disney has made. It's like an old school slice of life tv show, like the A-Team or Knight Rider. It doesn't pretend to revolutionize storytelling or make you think, it's just a comfy show that wants to do one thing: entertain the audience like Star Wars used to do.

It's shocking how harsh they are at people who like the show, almost like they genuinely hate you if you enjoy it. It's just like Rick Worley and his Prequel videos, if you don't have the same opinion as them then you are stupid and your opinions are invalid.

They're really banking hard on people eventually turning on the show, which may happen either due to seasonal rot or if season three is a disaster, which ever comes first so they can say "It was always shit, but only we could see it, unlike you normie consoomers". That and they probably feel like they have to play up the Fandom Menace(tm) with anything star wars related.

If that's true, it's probably not going to be drastic. People will look back at the show as being a 6 or 7/10 instead of literal perfection that some people think it is. But I think Mandalorian does just enough right where it's unlikely to be as big a drop as TFA in retrospective.

It's weird cause I get why the people who like Last Jedi hate the Luke scene cause they just hate star wars and want to subvert the series and characters, but for people in the "fandom menace" I don't get the weird pussyfooting about the scene. Is it fanservice? Yes. But considering Mando takes place a few years after RotJ, which means this is Luke in his prime, and that both the OG EU and the borked Disney EU establish that Luke is trying to rebuild the Jedi Order around this time, combined with the fact that the whole point of season 2 of Mando was to find Grogu a master to train him and I feel like their making a much bigger stink about this then they should be. This is what happens when you take the "fandom menace" moniker unironically seriously.

I used to be on the MCU A-Logs bandwagon around the end of the Phase 1/beginning of Phase 2 era. Among other antics during this time, I typed up a negative review of the first Avengers film and proceeded to read it aloud to my housemates who loved the film.

I've since personally apologised to them for being such an autistic douchebag. Star Wars and Luke in particular functioned as a way for him to escape the hellish reality of having to go through chemo as a kid. Needless to say he probably have a more than average amount of sentimental attachment to the original Star Wars trilogy. He didn't like the change to Luke that was done in The Last Jedi, so seeing Luke back in form (questionable CGI and all) hit him right in the childhood memories.

regardless, it infuriated me to find that mauler and rags had a “feud” with IHE and by extension TRO all because, get this, IHE had a different opinion from them and refused to concede that his OPINION was “incorrect”. i’m fucking sorry?? what?? i cannot and will not listen in full to their conversation, the bits i have heard are enough. why is mauler so fucking insistent on bullying IHE to “admit” he was “wrong”? like jesus fucking christ man. don’t you guys have anything better to do than harp on IHE for his opinion/review? must you always defer to your dumbass objectivism whenever someone’s view opposes yours? just none of it fucking matters.

Here goes. I can't help feeling like the last 4 years films were unduly shaped by the influence of Trump in negative aspects. Like blockbuster films became more overtly political (left-wing) due to Trump being in office. Like a form of protest. It started with Ghostbusters 2016 and kind of infected all the big franchises. Until they all ended up being disappointing in some ways. Star Wars, Aliens, Predator, Terminator. XMen. DCEU. Marvel to an extent. Game of Thrones, Westworld. The animated Disney classics e.g. Aladdin, Lion King Mulan etc.

Kinda glad WW84 got delayed until after the election. It would have been politicised like Ghostbusters 2016.
