Except they themselves say otherwise. They say the site is horrible and makes them want to kill themselves. There was a whole thread of people whining about how they're worse off for being on RetardEra.

Except we do already make concessions for this exact thing...
there’s a reason that people don’t refer to everyone who isn’t vegan as “bloodmouth”, because that’s the expected default, so we don’t have to accept a label assigned to us by the outsiders.

it’s why, outside of fantasy & sci-fi we don’t have terms to refer to people who don’t have telepathic powers, or magic, or people from Earth.

or even like “not having HIV” or “never having cancer”. The closest you get is “noncancerous”, which isn’t quite right. (Neither is remission which is someone who did have cancer but no longer does.). Because it’s the assumed default.

No Man's Sky is only lauded the way it is now because Sean Murray took his L, brought it home, and put it in a little glass case on his desk so he'd have to see it every day, then shut the fuck up for months at a time and applied a grindstone so vigorously to his nose that he likely does not have a nose any longer. And he and his team are still delivering, even beyond what they originally promised. Sean did the only right thing there was to do, in an industry absolutely loaded with lazy, sleazy bastards who would've totally taken that multi-million-dollar payday and walked away. I applaud him earnestly for that. We need more men with the guts to swallow their own failures and learn from them, and the dedication to deliver on promises not yet kept.

And when was the last time you heard a proper gamer trusting and/or forgiving a real snake-oil salesman, aka a journo?
