Original Achievement City content with their old LP episodes like Cloud Down with a mix of their newer and older talent (And appearances from Ray!)
They tried that a while back and it didn't go well because they hire people who can't physically navigate from point A to point B in minecraft. I guess its too much trouble to have the interns build elaborate setups like they used to. Just seems like they've gotten lazier. Would love to see them revisit clouds or dig down or find the tower but I don't see that happening with the current team.

"1 backer" Who are these people?
Crazies with way too much money for sure. Not one of those rewards is even remotely worth so much money. Also, meet and greet and video games with Fiona; all sounds very professional and worth it... Then again, you only need one mental fanboy wanting to meet her in person, for such a tier to make serious bank already. And RT has plenty of those.

Thank god RT found a way to celebrate "appreciate a nigga" month openly, otherwise people might think they dont care.

$10k to make a 10min short directed by a minor YT personality based off what sounds like an uninspired Silent Hill vibe. That alone would be pissing money down the drain, the person in question being Fiona makes me imagine that it'll be an even clunkier attempt at being deep or mysterious.

RT fans are the reddit-equivalent of DSP fans, they can't fall over themselves fast enough to show support to a bumbling company owned by one of the biggest media giants.

She needs $25k to make a 10-12 minute short? Jesus Christ. Remember when Robert Rodriguez made a feature length film for like $7000? But that required doing most shit himself and being creative and inventive, something I doubt Fiona's capable of.

They're working with a production company, which seems a little excessive. Admittedly I know practically nothing about film production but surely they could've done this project on their own? Like yeah, maybe they're not master cinematographers or whatever but even master cinematographers started off as amateurs. You can't improve if you don't try.

Here's what they say the budget will be spent on:

I love the disparity between her bio and her brother's(and of course she's listed first):

Anyway they've already raised $37k. Gotta admit, I'm a little excited to see how this will turn out. Hopefully it'll be an entertaining trainwreck instead of a dull and boring one.

Warner Media is probably way too involved in their business/finances for them to get away with it, but I do wonder if RT is just embezzling this money. Or if not embezzling, using it to fund their other dumbass shenanigans so that Warner thinks they're inexpensive/solvent.

Think about it. They (somehow) still have enough draw to instantly crowdfund a dumbass side project. Then they make some cheap-ass production way under budget and keep the change. Bam, you've got AH's entire computer budget for the year. If they keep doing projects like this, especially when they're protected from criticism by virtue signalling, they will make money by milking their fans every time. Or at least until the good will is gone. They haven't stopped squandering it so far!

Or it's a money laundering scheme, but RT isn't nearly that cool.

While it wouldn't shock me if this was the case, I think it's much more likely that they're just too incompetent to think of ways to cut costs or that they think more money = more quality.

Is that why I hear RT getting bundled into other things every few months? I’m pretty sure that a good amount of people will be cool with it if it means a different set of people end up rebooting RWBY.

That sounds like too much fucking money. You dont need disney levels of funding to make a 10 minute short. Scale your budget down l.

Crowd fund > $25K to make a ten minute short. Hire RT crew to run the production; simultaneously boosting RT's income and inflating the cost.

I would also observe that while making a ten minute short for much less than $25K is possible, it also takes ability, hard graft, and vision.

Things in short supply on a vanity project by a dilettante.

Ah, so it's embezzling a la Jack and Jill/Grown-Ups.

Let's just put some context on the budget here for this 10 minute youtube video:

Following
Budget: $6,000

Primer
Budget: $7,000

Paranormal Activity
Budget: $11,000

The Blair Witch Project
Budget: $22,000

Slacker
Budget: $23,000

Clerks
Budget: $27,000

Keep in mind, those are all full length films too.

Why only settle for a small amount of money, if you've got an extremely dedicated fanbase with incredibly low standards and expectations, willing to shower your new project with cash? Morals and artistic integrity are unfortunately few and far between at RT anymore, and with the lockdown still going strong, milking their fans for all their worth is top priority over there most likely. And Fiona, being a brown-skinned woman, is ofc in a prime position to do so. Shit be whack yo.

If you've got to budget out quarantining and COVID testing combined with traveling outside of your home town you probably shouldn't be making a budget film, full stop.
