DSP wanting to get bone-conduction headphones is pretty retarded for several reasons. Let's go to a 'best of' trash guide and see what the best option is listed as:

Since it's a basic 'what's the best' guide I'm assuming it's as deep into the issue as DSP will ever go. Now here are the funny bits:
Funny 1:
Audio quality for bone conduction headphones sucks ass. I have a pair of Aftershockz myself and the only place I would ever even consider using them is at the gym. Don't get me wrong, if you're looking for something that is discrete or that you can still hear background noise through they're not bad at all. Since they keep the ear canal open as well you can use them at the gun range and still hear your music even with earplugs in. However, when it comes to basic audio quality they are undeniably inferior to over-ear headphones or even a $6 pair of earbuds from the checkout line at Walgreens. They aren't really designed to replace regular headphones either, just to work around certain limitations that traditional headphones face. These limitations are usually things such as the necessity to hear other noises, excess sweat due to working out, and even activities like swimming (https://us.aftershokz.com/products/xtrainerz). They are a backup. A sidearm. They are what you use when you cannot use other headphones. I have read reviews talking about swimming, biking, running, and every other physical activity you can imagine but I have yet to find one that says "I have ear gout and these help protect my delicate [yet oddly-shaped] head". He is literally the opposite of their target demographic. It's like buying a motorcycle because the seat of your car is lumpy.

The fat man thinks money = quality and has thrown around some serious dough for his retarded streaming headphones. Cool. I can't remember which pair he is currently using to administer his ear gout, but literally any pair of over-ears will be better than the bone conduction headphones. The way he whines about not having the '3D Audio' when he wears his headphones around his neck means that he would never be able to use the bone conduction headphones for any length of time. The sound is tinny and distant, voices are hard to pick out, stereo audio is impossible to distinguish and you need to have the fuckers cranked up to hear pretty much anything. If ambient noise exists in your general vicinity, you are not going to hear much. If you need to scratch your ear you are not going to hear much. If you don't have them seated correctly you are not going to hear much. If you think that after wearing some > $200 over-ear headphones for years you are going to switch over seamlessly to a pair of bone conduction headphones and hear the enemies in your latest shooter sneaking up behind you, you are delusional. Or misinformed. Kinda a coin flip with this guy tbh.

For that price you could get a pair of incredibly solid over-ear headphones, even more so because you sit on your dumb chair all day and don't need bluetooth capability at all. Unless there is some other company that is charging way too much for some newfangled bone conduction headphones, there is literally no way on earth for the fat man to spend more money on a pair of bone conduction headphones than he otherwise would on a pair of over-ear headphones. $160 is the absolute ceiling. But this is the fat man, so he will somehow find a way to spend an additional $300 on some weird off-brand because more expensive = better.

Typing that all out makes me think that maybe Kat has purchased/is considering purchasing some bone conduction headphones. Since you can still hear other things while wearing them, it's very hard for a manager to work up the effort to try and forbid you from using them while working. I come in and out of the dspverse and recently I've been popping into chat to fuck around. Now ive been doing this on and off for years but the last few weeks are different. This bone conduction headphone nonsense is just the PS5 Controller: Round 2. Headphones are not giving him ear infections, and even if they were, all you would have to do is wipe them down with alcohol every night after you clock out for the day. He hasn't even seen his ENT yet so why is he even considering spending $160 when he doesn't know what the problem is yet? I guarantee it's all the snorting this filthy pig does. Ears, nose, and throat are all connected, hence why there are specialty doctors for all 3 as a system.
EDIT: The only way I can see Phil getting ear infections from his headphones is if he gets out of the shower and then slaps his headphones on without drying off properly. Letting water sit in your ear for a while can give you an outer ear infection. Again, nothing to do with his headphones, this is just basic fucking hygiene.
