Out of touch doctor thinks all public schools in America have the funding, infrastructure, and physical room to construct "outdoor" lunchrooms for kids. Also they need UV lights ("like restaurants") for sanitation. I love his "This is like so easy guys!" tone.
Scientists and PhDs are so removed from reality its terrifying to think they are actually in charge of what the public thinks is real.
waitaminute, am I reading this right and he's proposing to
bleach the
air?
guess it's a good thing that he's not orange and his house white, can't have people entertain non-corporate approved schemes...
I do want things to open. Outdoor music this summer sounds great. But Im not getting my hopes up. And I wouldnt start shelling out cash for an event that likely wont happen. Shit, I cant even begin to plan my wedding and retards on reddit think in 4 months they'll be candy flipping with 6,000 other people crammed into a field. Sounds like

to me.
a wedding is usually easier to plan than a festival (unless your extended family is so big it includes several thousand people, but then whose parents are gonna pay for that?), where you could get it done in 4 months, even more when you keep it small and of those a few probably won't attend because MUH CORONA anyway.
but as
@Salubrious mention even without shit being canceled for the rest of the year, nothing's gonna happen since no one started it up yet with the uncertainty how shit will continue. no point in booking venues and equipment and planning everything months in advance when you don't even know if it doesn't get canceled last minute, and like a wedding lots of attendees etc won't come because corona NOW, when summer is usually completely different.
the timeframe is simply fucked, even if we "defeat" corona tomorrow it will take months if not till middle of next year to get back on track. some smaller events could happen, but too late and you're drifting into flu season again and you'll hear a constant MUH NUMBERS MUH MUTATIONS.
which is probably my biggest gripe with the whole shitshow, it's like everybody got lobotomized early last year and no one even thinks about the longterm effects anymore (besides corona ones, which is ironic af) or even dares to question it without getting labeled a corona denier and grandma killer. like the most basic fucking thing,
who is gonna pay for all this? people like to whine on and on about their pensions and retirement and shit, but suddenly all of this is forgotten because of some nothingburger virus. great, you defeated the fascist corona and collected asspats on twitter, but you'll be poor for the rest of your life. gg no re faggot.
Overall I feel like my productivity is less than when I was in the office.
because home office is different, even people with more discipline have issues separating the two (although these days with 24/7 mobile phone availability it became a bit blurred already, which people really like to complain about sometimes).
if there's one silver lining it thought some people how to deal with home office and if it's for them or not, and maybe make it more palatable for companies to offer 1-2 per days week at home or something (more and it can seriously hamper your professional relationships when you're "just the dude on skype" etc, but can still work depending on the job).
but knowing clown world companies will now double down even harder after a year of forced lockdowns and dropped productivity where you can't even suggest it and you'll get shut down immediately.
Admittedly my reasons for doing it are shallow as fuck, but as much as it sucks now I don't plan on giving up any time soon. It's, at the very least, giving me something to keep my life a little scheduled (every other day) and something to work towards.
eh, even when it's just to pick up chicks after the lockdown (imagine being the lone swole guy when everybody else is a slob after months over-eating with no exercise, bonus points for a tan while running outside), it's not really shallow, in the end you'll be better "you" - and you fulfill your basic evolutionary programming so to speak.
biggest issue with neet-dom is routine and goals, however lot of times the people and "self-help'" material overlook that you'll still need the motivation to do so. no one likes to half-ass things (besides work since you get paid either way), but consciously or subconsciously questioning yourself wtf you're doing and why doesn't get you very far. it's similar to the home-office thing where there is no "clear" separation with immediate effect, and most people aren't raised/trained to handle the experience (and then learn from it).
point is fuck the goal, stick to the routine since that's much easier to achieve at first (or as easily achieveable short-term goal if you wanna call it that), and in 6 months when you can suddenly jog up the stairs without killing yourself that realization will re-affirm it and foster future goals asf.
