Mask-wearing slips in Tampa as fans celebrate Super Bowl weekend

What a hack article.

Its Florida, the gov has said there is to be zero enforcement of any distancing, shutdowns, or mask mandates. And there has been zero enforcement. Businesses can theoretically ask you to leave like always but its only happened once to me in 8 months.
Mayors and counties are merely suggesting you wear a mask in their city limits. You can walk arm in arm with a stranger maskless tongueing eachother in front of a row of cops and they cant even issue a warning.

Isn't Newsom trying to force things to reopen so he doesn't get recalled? Something similar is happening in my state (Washington) where a week ago, the Governor just *happened* to lay out eaiser reopening guidelines. Seems to me both Govs and the Feds want to end this so that people will vote for "saving" them.
It's more likely they are seeing the debt their state is getting in paying for unemployment and other Covid related services. Cali doubled their unemployment in late 2020 after the fed stopped the extra $600. Paying $75k for millions of people adds up quick. And covid tests are at least $100 too, so it's very easy for the state to spend billions a month on the fucking things.

Out of touch doctor thinks all public schools in America have the funding, infrastructure, and physical room to construct "outdoor" lunchrooms for kids. Also they need UV lights ("like restaurants") for sanitation. I love his "This is like so easy guys!" tone.

Scientists and PhDs are so removed from reality its terrifying to think they are actually in charge of what the public thinks is real.

Edit: Adding in this news article about corruption in WA state unemployment offices. Remember, Inslee knows about all of this.

Employees were constantly told to protect the money, and Moore said that this was prioritized over making sure it got out to the people in need. It was giving people the very opposite of the benefit of the doubt, she explained.

I look forward to this trend spreading throughout all of the criminal population:

ST. LOUIS — Inmates at a St. Louis jail set fires, caused flooding, broke out fourth-floor windows and tossed a stationary bike, chairs and mattresses outside Saturday in the latest disturbance over concerns about the coronavirus pandemic and restrictions that have limited visits and stalled court proceedings, officials said.
Story.

Haven't had jury trials in my state in a few months due to the coof. A functioning society must adjudicate criminal proceedings in a timely manner. Or we can continue to see peaceful protests like this.

Edit: This is merely a disturbance:

Some counties are fining businesses that don't enforce masks, since the gov's order only covers individuals.

It was for this reason that Moore was especially disappointed to hear about LeVine’s promotion to a national unemployment role with the Biden administration.

“People’s lives genuinely have been ruined because we’ve basically privileged paperwork and anemic responses and business as usual and deflection and, frankly, our own image over actually doing meaningful work for people,” Moore said. “Promoting someone? Do you genuinely care about doing the work of creating a healthy community? Or do you only care about PR and money and we’re going to get more of the same?”

Moore had thought the Biden administration would stand up for labor, but the appointment of LeVine has her questioning this.

“You say one thing and do the exact opposite, especially when it comes to poor people, especially when it comes to people of color, especially when it comes to women who aren’t CEO-class, especially when it comes to elders and people with disabilities who can’t access your shiny new website,” she said.

Oh, how the turn tables. :story:

All those Nigerians who walked away with millions in WA state funds definitely voted for Biden. They already have a whole states' worth of personal banking info, why not the whole country?

The entire unemployment process in every state was fucked but WA was especially bad. On top of everything else, some people STILL have not been paid an entire year of wages. Lefties sudeenly shocked that their state handout facilities dont work when the public needs them.

The super bowl is tomorrow! Time to guess how many cases they will make up. I'm going with 25,000 US wide within the next 2 weeks.
Super Bowl genocide! Never mind that no one can actually attend the damn game!

They're allowing 25,000 people to attend it. It won't be the usual Super Bowl sardine tin, but there will be people there.
It won't surprise me if we see a spike of COVID being reported in the greater Tampa area within the next 10-14 days simply because the media needs some sort of COVID news to spin their way when numbers are stabliizing or decreasing in many other areas.

If I recall, roughly 1/3 of the 25000 in attendance will be medical professionals being recognized for their bravery or something similar for having to work through COVID.

Is it weird to not wanna watch the Superbread-and-circus for the game itself but to see and possibly hope that the crowd there decide to break all the obnoxious COVID-rules to such a mass degree that security there cannot kick them out without looking like no-fun-allowed assholes?
I'm not watching because the NFL made it clear they cared more about SocJus activism and virtue signalling this year than it did about entertainment. Pro athletes and franchise owners probably aren't the best people to be lecturing people about privilege when they're making millions themselves. Sure, some have used their money for worthwhile causes, but others DGAF and expect others to do the dirty work for them.

Still, you might be on to something in that it will be interesting to see how many people wear masks in their seats during the game. It might even make the halftime show amusing if all we hear is muffled lyrics from whomever is performing.

I'm not sure what to think here. the right to a speedy trial is indeed a key part of the US constitution. however, what happens when court cases can't be heard through nobody's fault -- especially when many courtrooms aren't conducive for social distancing during hearings/trials. Zoom might work for bench trials, but the logistics (and privacy issues) for jury trials are likely nightmarish.

Not only that, but civil and routine matters such as estates going through probate court have been slowed down more than usual. I'm not sure what the solution is to get the legal system back up and running at a decent pace again.

I'd love to know what this doctor recommends for those parts of the US where it gets too cold for students to be outside during the winter months. In the past, those students would be directed to stay in their classrooms to eat and have recess. Now, they get "snow days" if it's deemed too cold even if there's no snow on the ground 🤷‍♂️ . Public schools are always clamoring that they never have enough money and figure they can get local residents (aka the taxpayers) to bankroll everything they demand through millages and other similar assessments. Good luck with that thanks to the pandemic affecting people's money-making ability for the past 11 months.

Some counties are fining businesses that don't enforce masks, since the gov's order only covers individuals.
In some regards, counties probably have a better feel for what's needed and works best for their residents than state government does. When state-level restrictions here were temporarily thrown out, my county enacted a mask order that was far more practical than the state one was. Sadly it only lasted a day or two before the state HHS director reinstated the stricter mask rules under his own authority under the health code.

This further underscores the bigger issue that the various levels of government are communicating or coordinating as effectively as they should be. Unfortunately, those in the higher levels are more interested in the political aspects than the practical ones when it comes to dealing with COVID. Government simply cannot or will not deal with disasters effectively without it being bogged down in bureaucracy and partisan politics.

I'm still wondering why that nurse who passed out on TV hasn't been heard from again. You'd think they would want to interview her and have her speak about what happened to reassure people that everything was okay. Maybe she's fine and doesn't want to be interviewed because she is embarrassed. But, if you are picked to demonstrate it live on TV, you really should speak to the public to assuage some of the fear that your fainting episode caused. I find it very strange that, other than the one photo of her (masked up), there is nothing else said about it.
She probably died.

She probably died.
Her family swear blind she isn't dead, but she's been quiet on social media. Her sister likes to run her mouth and get super pissed off in the comment section of her social media too.

I'd put money on her being dead. She was a total whore for asspats before, basic cunts like her dont give that up.

waitaminute, am I reading this right and he's proposing to bleach the air?
guess it's a good thing that he's not orange and his house white, can't have people entertain non-corporate approved schemes...

I do want things to open. Outdoor music this summer sounds great. But Im not getting my hopes up. And I wouldnt start shelling out cash for an event that likely wont happen. Shit, I cant even begin to plan my wedding and retards on reddit think in 4 months they'll be candy flipping with 6,000 other people crammed into a field. Sounds like :optimistic::lunacy: to me.

a wedding is usually easier to plan than a festival (unless your extended family is so big it includes several thousand people, but then whose parents are gonna pay for that?), where you could get it done in 4 months, even more when you keep it small and of those a few probably won't attend because MUH CORONA anyway.

but as @Salubrious mention even without shit being canceled for the rest of the year, nothing's gonna happen since no one started it up yet with the uncertainty how shit will continue. no point in booking venues and equipment and planning everything months in advance when you don't even know if it doesn't get canceled last minute, and like a wedding lots of attendees etc won't come because corona NOW, when summer is usually completely different.
the timeframe is simply fucked, even if we "defeat" corona tomorrow it will take months if not till middle of next year to get back on track. some smaller events could happen, but too late and you're drifting into flu season again and you'll hear a constant MUH NUMBERS MUH MUTATIONS.

which is probably my biggest gripe with the whole shitshow, it's like everybody got lobotomized early last year and no one even thinks about the longterm effects anymore (besides corona ones, which is ironic af) or even dares to question it without getting labeled a corona denier and grandma killer. like the most basic fucking thing, who is gonna pay for all this? people like to whine on and on about their pensions and retirement and shit, but suddenly all of this is forgotten because of some nothingburger virus. great, you defeated the fascist corona and collected asspats on twitter, but you'll be poor for the rest of your life. gg no re faggot.

Overall I feel like my productivity is less than when I was in the office.

because home office is different, even people with more discipline have issues separating the two (although these days with 24/7 mobile phone availability it became a bit blurred already, which people really like to complain about sometimes).

if there's one silver lining it thought some people how to deal with home office and if it's for them or not, and maybe make it more palatable for companies to offer 1-2 per days week at home or something (more and it can seriously hamper your professional relationships when you're "just the dude on skype" etc, but can still work depending on the job).
but knowing clown world companies will now double down even harder after a year of forced lockdowns and dropped productivity where you can't even suggest it and you'll get shut down immediately.

Admittedly my reasons for doing it are shallow as fuck, but as much as it sucks now I don't plan on giving up any time soon. It's, at the very least, giving me something to keep my life a little scheduled (every other day) and something to work towards.

eh, even when it's just to pick up chicks after the lockdown (imagine being the lone swole guy when everybody else is a slob after months over-eating with no exercise, bonus points for a tan while running outside), it's not really shallow, in the end you'll be better "you" - and you fulfill your basic evolutionary programming so to speak.
biggest issue with neet-dom is routine and goals, however lot of times the people and "self-help'" material overlook that you'll still need the motivation to do so. no one likes to half-ass things (besides work since you get paid either way), but consciously or subconsciously questioning yourself wtf you're doing and why doesn't get you very far. it's similar to the home-office thing where there is no "clear" separation with immediate effect, and most people aren't raised/trained to handle the experience (and then learn from it).

point is fuck the goal, stick to the routine since that's much easier to achieve at first (or as easily achieveable short-term goal if you wanna call it that), and in 6 months when you can suddenly jog up the stairs without killing yourself that realization will re-affirm it and foster future goals asf.

She had to have died or went into a coma from the vaccine, and her family are giving her the Scientology treatment by claiming she's keeping out of the public eye by focusing on studies or some shit. If there's one thing basic white girls under the age of 40 love more than a dog and a jar of peanut butter, it's social media exposure and reassurance from horny men. If she were alive and active, her Instagram account would be a nonstop stream of selfies with her wearing sunglasses, yoga pants, and some retarded Snapchat filter over it.

If she is alive then I could believe this: she was pregnant, didn't know as it was early stages, lost the pregnancy just after the vaccine and has (I'll go so far as to say understandably, I'm not heartless) a total psychotic break because of it.

Edited to say: her sister is clearly pissed off and unstable. People should be asking the right, and emotionally button pushing questions.

My first thought was "14 weeks is still pretty early, right? I bet the odds of a random miscarriage at that time are pretty high and so this isn't that big of a coincidence." A quick google brought up this:
miscarriage risks.png
It's still a coincidence, but it's definitely a big enough one that it prompts a good HMMMMMMMMMMMMMM

When I worked from home last spring while the state ordered people to stay home as much as possible, the biggest issue I had was the days all blending into each other. After working 5-6 days a week, I'd wake up on a day off and instinctively want to start working after breakfast before realizing, "Hey, this isn't my day to work."

You're right, though, that it takes both discipline and effort to make working from home successful and productive. It also helps to have an area that's separate from everything else from which to work. That's a big help in maintaining the necessary work/personal life separation.

How am I supposed to do anything if everything is closed? The only shit open is the bakery which is not the most important. Dress/suit stores are mostly closed and venues are not taking down payments because they already have angry brides from 2020 that still havent gotten what they paid for. And I refuse to half ass one of the most important days of my life because of COVID
.

Theres no way to plan ahead for ANYTHING. And yet massive festivals are already taking people's money.

You say nothing will happen, well maybe, but are these planning companies going to shell out hundreds of thousands of dollars in refunds? Why would they do that to themselves? It would likely bankrupt them. And its not just festivals, lots of artists intend to resume touring this summer and fall. Im very confused and I have a feeling the fallout of this summer will be spectacular.

Allllll these motherfuckers are touring starting this Spring. They can't go without the attention and money for much longer, its what they live off.

It it the judiciary's fault for not conducting these jury trials and the public health departments that have provided them with support for their ill-advised decisions. In the end, the judiciary and the entire criminal justice system will have to pay for these mistakes one way or another.

Even everyone's bastion of hope, Florida, is going to get fucked because of this:

While so much has been disrupted by the pandemic, one thing has been shut down entirely — Miami-Dade’s criminal jury trials.

That’s creating a backlog that some lawyers fear could overwhelm an already stressed criminal justice system.

Before COVID shut down jury trials in Miami-Dade, a steady stream of defendants made their way from jail to courthouse to cut plea deals, often sweetened as a key date approached— their trial date.
“There are people in jail who would not ordinarily be currently in jail if we had the speedy trial actually working right now,” Martinez said.
Defense attorneys say the best deals often come just before trial, but not anymore.

“We really have no leverage to put the prosecutors’ feet to the fire and get good deals. Things are just stagnant,” said criminal defense attorney Marcia Giordano Hansen.

With no trial date, their clients wait. Giordano Hansen has one in custody for two and half years, facing a possible seven years minimum for drug trafficking and money laundering. His trial postponed four times in less than a year.
When trials do resume, tentatively around March 1, the speedy trial clock will soon start ticking again. Unless it is waived, it usually gives the state about 175 days from arrest to trial. If enough defendants demand them, the system could crash.
Miami-Dade is pretty fucked.
