General Discussion for Virtual Youtubers / Vtubers / Chuubas - it's okay to be a simp for 2D, just don't thirstpost.

Did Gura just woke up from her bed? Her voice is kinda deep like what happen when she collab with Calli in minecraft long ago.

Welp gonna sleep. It's 2AM now.

I'm really curious about Sora's collab history since she didn't really break out with anyone else in the company besides AZKi until relatively recently and it was the Holostars and Indonesia that really bridged the gap.
I'm thinking those two were the final test in Hololive's growth into pure entertainment. The pure diva and the pure idol are suddenly getting into the brand Hololive created? I'd wager they are the laggers to see how far they stray from the seiso. I'm not saying Sora or Azki is going to become a Coco. . . but as the relatively normal girls in comparison to the other jackasses. . . it's a better tightrope to walk. . . and more real to the roommate perhaps.
if fans and management don't appreciate it
Oh they do. JP and EN have united behind this beautiful narrative. I'm of the opinion that what Hololive does a bit better than other rival groups is. . . while those others might grant greater freedom and real interaction, Holo is making, controlling, and using narratives to create a pseudo-real community that we watch. Niji are avatars. Holos are characters. And that is what I think the business angle is. Not that quality over quantity BS.
chest of Gundamium
A is for Adamantium.
Either Kanata is the world most oblivious lesbian or she's playing 5d chess because I have yet to hear a single straight thing she did.
Neither. . . she's a JP woman who gives less than a few shits by their cultural standards on physical contact between women.

They had better not. I do think that letting Vtubing be pigeonholed into simply game streamers is very easy to do. Not to sound like a pretentious jackass, but we NEED people like Haachama to push the boundries and see what you can really use the medium to do. And to think, all of this because her sister said her blindfolded "Getting Over It" stream was a boring idea.

Here's the timestamped moment from Kanata's vid when she reacts to "Oha-Rouge". Like, she seemed totally thrown for a loop.

The Madoka thing is interesting, I was thinking Haato's beheading reminded me of Mami's death from that show.

I don't know what came over me but I just caught up with 100 pages of this in one sitting what the actual fuck am I doing... no idea why either because I skip most things unless they're HoloEN related or some JP/ID, and recently there's been a load of indie, specifically "tba" drama bullshit clogging it up.

Late af to the party but I only found out about Ame's bubb4bot yesterday and it's honestly pretty genius. Creative loophole unless she got permission for it first, does anyone know? Even if she has permission, I'm pretty sure her twitch can still get dmca'd, I wonder if that matters or if she doesn't care and will just make new ones whenever it happens. Would suck if she got screwed over because of it, but it's pretty impressive how she moderates normal chat, twitch chat, song links and goes through superchats, even though she closes them pretty quickly. Could be risky but I don't blame her for wanting actual music for her stream when she has to thank people for most of a day sometimes.

I guess she enjoys it though because from the collab Gura and Ina don't seem to do them so it's clearly not mandatory. Props to all the tubas that do it, I can't imagine it myself being one of that size.

The pitch of her speaking voice seems to vary a little from day to day. Sometimes she raises it a little, sometimes it drops down probably to what's natural.

The parallels are very strong, where the character is dragged offscreen for their beheading and the body falls to the floor. The song before and after is called Homura too. Not quite strong enough to confirm she was referencing it (since the style of framing isn't that rare) but definitely possible, a viable mini-rrat.

The current Haachama phase will probably last a while. So far the order of battle has been:
  1. Haato gets turned into Haachama over the course of several months
  2. Surreal stream happens
  3. Coexistence for a little while
  4. Haato gets locked up?
  5. Haato is freed, Haachama fades
  6. Haato is killed, Haachama returns
Unless she wants to do a Marvel-style revolving door of deaths, she needs to take the plot in a different direction. So far she's demonstrated great skill at improvising things (the void stream was more or less unannounced) rather than planning far ahead, so I suspect she's written herself into a temporary corner. Time for a MacGuffin? A revival arc? A change of heart? External help? Only time will tell.

Now come she making her own HoloEN generation

As in recruit a bunch of people and start her own Gen, Fubuki-style? That would be kino. Far-fetched but kino. Imagine entire indie agencies getting BTFO by a sub-branch of Hololive run by 19 year old pepeloni meme girl.

Remember those "Heavenrend" idiots from earlier? They've crowned themselves executives, all 5 of them. Still no chuubas though. I feel sorry for whoever put money into that thing.

I looked into the story a little more. In April 2019, some complaints about company abuse went public and all four members tendered resignations. They came back with the company promising to address the problems, but a member was replaced less than two months later and all four were replaced by October 2019.

I'm sure she adds them as is necessary for collabs. I'm really curious about Sora's collab history since she didn't really break out with anyone else in the company besides AZKi until relatively recently and it was the Holostars and Indonesia that really bridged the gap. Holostars and Indonesia are pretty close since some Holostars provided security for the original HoloID dorm, so it makes sense they could get close to Sora together, but I wonder why there wasn't much interaction with her before? Likely explanation is that there was some vestigial mandate from management to keep the VSingers quarantined, so I don't have any dumb rrats for this. Sora seems really happy to interact with people these days though, I'm happy for them.

Even if fans and management don't appreciate it, you can see from Kanata's perspective that the talents can really enjoy having RP challenges come their way like this. They are professional actors to some extent and even shitposty goofball Coco has had deep conversations about the nature of their roles in an early collab with Aqua:
This is not true. Sora and Miko are very close as well, and she did collabs with most hololive girls before but most of those streams are privated. Only after gen 2 that we really see some distance.

Also, Sora isn't a vsinger. Only Azki is. Sora is first a vtuber so her focus is on her channel as a streamer and then a singer while Azki is firstly a singer and then a streamer, which is why she's part of Inonaka and not hololive itself, which is a branch focused in music.

The bubb4bot streams aren't archived, so no risk of DMCA.

Watching Coco's 2.0 reveal I can definitely understand why she spent the money for Home3d and was the one who used it most often. It's crazy how handicapped her L2D is was.

Edit: Everybody getting gangimari and poor Watame isn't allowed to have it it enabled in Home3d.
Holy shit she has a nose

I looked into it a little more and this guy brings up a good point: Sora's album release was the start of her doing fewer collabs and the older ones got hit in the big delete. Another interesting thing he mentions is Sora herself genuinely enjoying the idol image and this is backed up by her appearance on meme review where it is mentioned that Sora and A-chan push the idolstuff more than Yagoo. Anyhow, Sora a cute.

Speaking of A-chan, she's Sora's Friend A, right? That's her background, isn't it?
