Wuhan Coronavirus: Megathread - Got too big

A bunch of restaurants were about to sue him, and like the next fucking day all of a sudden the stay at home order was lifted because "hospital capacity is projected to increase in the next few weeks".
This sounds like what happened in Michigan withing the past couple of weeks. After Governor Whitmer stated that the "numbers/science" didn't justify lifting of restrictions in place at the time, angry parents gathered for a protest outside the Capitol building and then filed a lawsuit last week demanding that the four winter sports on hold be allowed to resume. All of a sudden, the numbers that prevented these sports from starting suddenly were such that those sports could resume tomorrow (08-Feb). TL;DR - Politicians are mealy-mouthed and will use the data to justify their own personal opinions in a confirmation bias sort of way.

Although it's hidden behind a paywall, the area's Sunday paper had an op-ed piece where the author pointed out a number of the contradictory facts people have heard over the past 11 months from so-called experts. The takeaway is that these contradictory directives without any sort of explanation or basis for them have confused people so much that they've become frustrated to the point that they end up choosing the path of least resistance in not taking precautions because it's easier than trying to figure out what they should or shouldn't be doing.

Sitting on the porch with my cat and listening to the various parties going on in the neighborhood. Feelsgoodman.jpg

It's funny to hear the seconds difference between people's cable/streaming services with the cheers happening.

Idgaf about cuckball and the commercials won't even be mildly fun this year but I'm glad to hear a bunch of people just having fun.

The state of Oregon has decided to start outright mocking its depressed, unemployed, locked down, riot-scarred populace.

I almost can't believe this is an official state-produced ad. It seems like a parody: "Wear the mask, keep gathering small, social distance, even at the detriment of your safety and happiness!" Of course, we're living in clown world, now, so of course, this is real. Honk honk, my brothers, honk honk

With the lady's mascara running down her face, the plushie floating in the water, the guy getting offed by his coworkers, it seems almost like they are having a laugh at the mental health consequences of the lockdown they inflicted on us.

Thank God I love in Idaho.

I reckon this would be the general attitude if they tried something like those commercials here:
Idaho is the fastest growing state in the country so next time there's a scamdemic with COVID-29 or whatever your future governor will trust in the Experts and Science and make commercials like that for the sake of the Boise Bugmen and their mini-San Francisco/mini-Portland.

Wyoming is my fall back state. Thankfully most of the people moving in are conservatives.

The Twitter Super Bowl chimpouts have been fun:
