'NUANCE IN MY VILLAINS? REEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!'

These people are children. They should hate White Wolf by all accounts since that was basically the inspiration behind the first edition of VtM. Let's not hunt the monsters, let's be them and see what they're all about. And that was revolutionary for the time. Sure, you probably had DnD 'evil' parties but not to the extent of VtM. 'You need blood to survive, you are slowly becoming a monster to do so'. And it still works. WW grey morality and hypocrisy and tragedy make for good RP and compelling characters.

These people basically don't want to think - they just wanna be told 'bad guy bad and good guy good My morality is best'. They can't be challenged by anything that might provoke their worldview.

Pathetic. Utterly pathetic.

These are the people who play VtM as if the PCs are superheroes and therefore think Brujah is the way, truth, and light because they play it like D&D in modern day.

I have a somewhat similar problem in my Through the Breach group. We have one dude who thinks the Guild are good guys who want to see humans expand and succeed. In a way they are, as well as being egalitarian but they're also the embodiment of "at least the trains run on time." They're extremely corrupt and they fuck shit up constantly trying to gather more power.

Why would you WANT to make all casters cast like a Sha'ir with that time per spell level nonsense? Because the millions of hours thing is what they have to deal with and it's why they aren't that great in spite of their decent flexibility if you intentionally leave slots open.

As written, spell prep for a prepared caster is literally just "spend one hour looking over the book with your spells in it, because you are spending that time musing over which ones to use, making sure you can wiggle the fingers and clench the buttcheeks right, and prepping the ingredients for them".

It isn't casting time that's increased, it's memorization.

Because they want to try tweaking the rules.

Play the Sha'ir then; it does that exact method with the way it "fetches" spells, especially if you're pulling divine spells from the domains you can fetch from. It isn't worth it too by the by; I seriously just use the ones I keep with me like a Sorcerer for that reason.

That's not what they want to do. They want to make suggestions about modding the Pathfinder 1E rules with the option to adjust them during the campaign if the rules don't seem to be working out. They want to have input on the campaign setting and the changes their rule mods would make to the setting. No third party products, straight Pathfinder books.

I'm fine with this, it's kind of fun.

If you had to become a cultist to one of the Chaos gods which one would you worship? I'd go with Tzeentch because at least he gives you cool powers.

Papa Nurgle! Who doesn't want an all loving father and endlessly loving and supportive brother and sisters? Sure, you have to share a body with super-AIDS, but if you never go to the doctor you won't even know you have it!

Either Papa Nurgle or Slaanesh. The former because being able to not give a shit about anything is pretty sweet, and the latter because all the drugs and all the art.

Can confirm that Tasha’s has broken 5e. I’m currently playing a level 3 Shadow Monk with Devil’s Sight from the Eldritch Adept feat. So I can basically just cast Darkness and beat up enemies and they really don’t have much they can do about it. They’re effectively blind in my Darkness so I get advantage on all attacks against them and they get disadvantage on all attacks against me. I managed to solo six abjurers and three gladiators doing this over the course of a single combat.

Some of the things in Tasha's were more balanced in the experimental Unearthed Arcana, than the actual book they sent to the printers! Not that I'm surprised at their utter lack of playtesting, quality control and use of forum feedback. As a GM, I most likely won't run stock 5E for my gaming groups, just for these reasons. I can't be arsed to gather, collate and type up pages upon pages of house rules to patch it all. Much easier to just change rule sets. After all, we're all spoiled for choice these days.

Reject balance, embrace +2 Int Orc Wizard.
