I don't know if this has ever been posted, but apparently Rhys has always been quite the capitalist. Here's a letter to the Times Colonist from 2003.
Everyone who is upset with the recent, and extended, rise in gas prices is in need of an economics lesson.
Businesses exist to make money, not to provide a service without profit. The misconception that a great many people carry around is that companies, such as oil companies, owe them their product. The result of this is people believe such concepts as over-charging or price-gouging even exist: they don't.
The fundamental precept of capitalism is that worth is traded for worth: we trade our money for goods and services If we believe a company is charging too much, then our only option is to not purchase their product at that price. We have no right to their product at an affordable rate.
