Nexpo/YT Horror Channels - Do they all suck

I loved his videos where he'd download viruses and test them out on virtual machines. Genuinely interesting and creative. Such a shame that he turned into yet another run of the mill drama youtuber.
He's one of the only youtubers with some set of expert knowledge (rare!) that I tolerate and now that he's doing less cybersecurity and tech focused videos, I'm starting to lose interest in his uploads.

The biggest reason for the ARG trend are faggot jannies and stuff like SleeplessWatchDogs. It could even be something from years ago that will disappear completely but they will find it and flag it, they've even been flagging greentext posts for a few years.

The real issue is he's always a day or two late to whatever current drama he's posting about and it's always stale af by the time his videos come out. He did what, like 3 or 4 videos about the gamestop stock thing days after it was already all over the internet?

Look into DanOOCT1 for more of this. He hasn't posted lately, but he's done years worth of videos on viruses over the years.

Another horror tuber I can suggest is Reignbot. She does some stuff that's run of the mill, but she can do some interesting stuff sometimes.

Along with what @Orc Girls Make Due said, you should check out rogueamp and his channel with danooct1, ampdan. Rogueamp has been gone forever but it's classic stuff. Colin Hardy is pretty good for the technical details behind modern malware.

What kind of fag reports post from fucking Reddit!
It's not even the OP most of the time, it's shitty authors with personality disorders who are salty they can't make a living off their work and hate that Youtubers sometimes can make a living narrating stuff due to their marketing skills, sometimes they even flag people who did what they wanted and asked the author. Sometimes people even try to rescind permission due to the Youtuber doing something offensive.

As for anyone wondering "why don't you ask", some of the stories are old, others have no way to contact the author, and the messaging system breaks when you try to message more than 3 or 4 people. I looked into doing it over furlough.

Eudoxia Mysteries is a good smaller channel.

Most of his videos are pretty interesting (The Cult of Saturn video is really good especially) and he doesn't talk in a retarded spooky voice or over-dramatize things like a lot of the more popular "mystery" type channels.
I do enjoy my genuinely obscure horror videos narrated by Tommy Wiseau.

For true crime i like both "this is monsters" and "necronomipod" podcasts. Monsters usually deals with people who kill their children and while not exactly graphic, he doesn't sugar coat details. He talks about lesser known cases, no jon benet or Mccan. Necro is way more graphic, like no details spared. The hosts frequently joke and get off on tangents but it makes for nice break from all the blood and gore. Necro also does a toooon of research. Even hard core crime fans will learn something new. If you like dead rabbit radio, you'll probably like necro. Same vibe

I never listened to them, but I have a strong distaste for them off the bat.
When the lock down first started some TV streaming service offered 2 weeks free (No credit card required) of service, I decided to take them up on it. Kept it on mostly as background noise, ended up on the travel channel (mostly paranormal shows now it seems). In one of those "X caught on camera" shows they had some one from Last Podcast on the Left as one of the people giving reactions, and it was just stupid (the show over all, but the people too) just hamming it up even on footage that was debunked years ago (well before the show started to film) and could easily be found on google.

I mean sure its an act what what not, but also shows how willing they are to be associated with willful ignorance at best and lying deception at worst.

>Ben Kissel

of course it was Kissel the fat retard

I had an ex that LOVED Last Podcast on the Left and it was absolute fucking AIDS every time I listened in.

I don't really get the appeal of it at all. Terrible senses of humor, irrelevant TDS, and any information shared you could easily get from a book or Wikipedia.
They have been getting steadily worse since 2018 imho and the constant sperging out about politics and running out of decent topics doesn't help.

I used to like Last Podcast, but I haven't listened in a couple years tbh, so I don't know what they're like these days. At least when I listened, I was always irritated because Marcus would try to actually discuss a topic, and then Henry would interrupt with a silly voice or something. His antics were funny at first, but got old fast. The idea of a crime/horror podcast that has a bit of a jokey tone is very appealing to me, but I'd rather the topic come first, jokes second, and I felt like Last Podcast was the other way around. The main reason I didn't keep up with it is just that I have a tough time listening to podcasts, and catch myself zoning out every few minutes, it wasn't actually because of them, but I did like what I heard, overall

TLPOTL was fun back when they were more edgelordy, like they can be a bit more off colored with their jokes and politics, but aligned with the fun, chill takes on horror subjects. Haven't caught up since they moved their stuff on Spotify, but yeah a lot of their jokes slowly went into lefty territory and ended up walking on eggshells on some things some of the time.

After basically binging them, I have to highly recommend this is MONSTERS. They cover stuff I might've heard of lightly touched on other channels before and even stuff I've never heard of, and go into a depth even on the old stuff. They're a super engaging listen despite being new. If you can't stand stuff with children, skip the first season. But their other stuff is very good.
I started watching them at your suggestion, and I really like this. The thing I love the most is the narrator's voice. Way too many horror/true crime YouTubers either have annoying voices or speak way too slowly. The guy who narrates this is MONSTERS meanwhile speaks normally. His voice is clear with no obvious impediments and he speaks at a normal speed. The presentation is minimal, but I like that. There's no creepy ambiance or anything, it's just the sound of the narrator's voice and I much prefer that; creepy music in these kinds of videos never work for me (the sole exception being Horror Stories). Even beyond that, his topics are seriously fascinating. I hadn't heard of most of these cases, but he does a good job summarizing the particulars.

Where do greentext channels even get their shit? I never even see greentext stories when I browse 4chan anymore.
I think Chass has mentioned that he just scours the archives for stories. If you're on /x/ constantly, they'll also pop up if you're very patient.

I really like TLPOTL. Their new stuff is actually a lot more well-researched and informative while still being entertaining. I honestly do not care if they have TDS because it literally almost never comes up, and when it does it's not for that long, and I can just skip ahead anyway. I also like them because they stopped all their edgelord shit because edgelord shit is for fags, and it just felt like they were trying too hard whenever they did it. Regardless, they still do dark humor, and I actually feel like I learn something when I listen to them.

Also, the Elliot Rodger, Charles Ng, and Minnie and Nannie impressions are still some of the funniest things I've ever heard.
