Why doesn't Phil actually attempt to transition?

Granted he said one doctor will chop his balls off, then again after being around him, what doctor wouldnt?
I honestly don't think he's going to get his balls cut off. Even for an outpatient surgery, you need a place to recover. He's proven he's unable to take medications regularly, what with him throwing his hormones in the sewer. I don't know what kind of psych eval you'd have to undergo to get the surgery in the first place, but I'm pretty certain he would fail it.

Also let's add, Phil claims he's coming into a good chunk of money with his welfare back pay.

How much is going to his "life saving" transition? None, he's buying a bike, that he doesn't know how to ride or have place to store.

Because he and the majority of his friends are only pretending to be transgender for attention and oppression points.

Honestly I think if someone looking like Phil sat down with a doctor and said they needed approval for their balls to be sliced off, they'd throw him in an involuntary psyche holding cell for a few days and then tell him to never come back to their office.

What adf pays for is medication that's supposed to reverse/stop thinning hair. The hormones they don't take are free, paid for by the state of California under his medicaid.

Seriously, even when I was with them in philly and would ask "did you take your meds?" She would like and say she had. Which, in hindsight, should have been cause for alarm.

I think ADF is jealous of Chris, who is more attractive, more passable, more intelligent, and genuinely a better human being than ADF.

Why doesn't he transition?

You're assuming he actually WANTS to transition.

You might as well ask: "Since he's a committed Maoist with lots of spare time, why doesn't he jump into community organizing, or join a local union and try to unionize among local workers?"

In reality he's as much of a Marxist/Maoist as he is a transexual: He isnt, though he likes to cosplay one.

His Maoism or transexualism or BDSM or whatever concept or idea that'll attract him next because it's "edgy" and "hardcore" isn't genuine.

It's just a vehicle for his IRL cosplay personas, fueled by equal parts of craving attention and his insecurities and need to adopt a "macho" hyper masculine personality.

Because everyone would hate him and probably soon kick his ass, just like the Occupy people, because he is a completely insufferable prick. Also he'd probably have some shit about how unions aren't truly revolutionary, bla bla bla, and oh, they actually consist of people who work.

Easy question, easy answer. When on hormones you're taking two pills. That means Phil would need to do two things that don't involve bitching/lying on the internet, mooching off friends, or getting/designing new tattoos. He'd have to do these two things everyday, and based on observations that is 2 more things than he's used to doing and would be too difficult.

Honestly taking meds is pretty difficult if you don't have someone to tell you to take them, and aren't used to it. I have seizures and anxiety issues and I sometimes forget to take meds that basically help me function on a day to day basis. Getting into medicine routines can be really difficult, and based on how set in his ways Phil is he'd never be able to keep up with the hormones if he was taking pills, the patch or had to inject.

A little off topic, but I have one of those weekly pill counters, one with a spot for AM and PM drugs. I always take mine after I brush my teeth. Helps keep me doped up and functioning :)

Yeah, and for some people it's easier. It really depends on the person and based on ADF's laziness/homelessness and my ... schedule the box would still be ignored.

Phil's transition would require an army of cis healthcare professionals, the same as it would for any trans individual. He must find this somewhat disturbing.
