I don't know why people compare televangelism to Phil. Maybe because I've been to one of those mega churches before. I get it the cult like mentality is similar, but at the end of the day Phil is just playing video games and scamming undesirables. Televangelism is a lot worse because they are pretending to be a good person, the ultimate good person, while slowly robbing good people blind and convincing people they will go to Heaven if you follow them.

Phil couldn't pretend to be a good person to save his life. Televangelist pretend to be family until a flood comes and wont let distressed victims inside their stadium church because they didn't want to fuck up the sky blue carpet.

I'd like to say more on the subject but I have work to do just now so I'll just say chew on the notion that he already pitches salvation to his viewers. The only difference is he's not telling them that they'll be saved by handing over their money - he's telling them that he'll be saved by virtue of their charity. Yet every single day he needs more to be redeemed and muh life: the redemption run always needs the fuel of the touched peepul's spokebux so he can continue building his ark in the garage next to the rusted green screen. I can see Pastor You're Gunna Burn in Hell Burnell making the jump over to The 700 Club pretty easily.

Not in a million years would a retail chain bring on an outside hire for a management position without having prior management experience. Phil would be relegated to entry level customer service, a position he would not last a single eight-hour shift in.

My opinion tends to oscillate between "The grift never ends, Phil will die as a full-time streamer" and "There's no way this is sustainable in the long run, he depends too much on too few people".

Frankly, I have no idea what the future holds for Phil. Maybe retards like OIC will keep appearing and picking up the position of cuck-in-chief. Or maybe the well will actually dry up and he'll cry for help and there'll only be people laughing at him in his chat.

Regardless of what happens, one thing's for sure: I don't envy Phil's position at all. His livelihood is entirely reliant on some stupid people keeping their stupidity for as long as he's alive. He will die and be entirely forgotten almost immediately, except for the few times when some friends are talking about their biggest failures in life and one of them says:

I'll add from anecdotal and personal experience nobody is hiring full timers in this work environment not since Obamacare because the company has to provide insurance to said full timers the exception being some shit job like working overnight unloading trucks with a forklift with ain't gonna happen. He has somewhere around 900 subs on Twitch. Absolute minimum he gets is $2.50 for each tier 1. He gets paid in around a week from now - at least $2,250. He said there are 2 major bills coming up that he can't pay. One is his Internet which, going by price comparison websites, can't be more than $60 unless he's full Derrich. The other bill must be his mortgage (bankruptcy filing ahoy!) at $1,830 + $360 for "maintenance". But he doesn't pay condo fees in Washington, so I guess -$360 because that's optional?

If it really is the mortgage, he really does have zero money and he really is getting thrown out for being 1 day late for really not paying... by the time those $200 begathons add up he'll be really getting paid by Twitch anyway!

I'm not a spiteful person but I truly want you to feel what real anxiety is. The kind that actually cripples you. The kind that takes over your life and controls it with an iron fist.

A person cannot have genuine money problems when:
- He can still afford to eat out once a week, minimum (excluding pre-made overpriced food and probably a fuck ton of extra premium grade snacks and whatever else disappears into that gut)
- He can afford to waste money on mobile games
- He lives in a house in an area multiple hundreds of thousands of dollars above his means

After a certain point you lose all the right to pity and that point has now been crossed more than a hundred times over.

I could buy some form of social anxiety if he claimed that instead of general anxiety since it is backed up by his habits. He 100% doesn't have any sort of chronic issue with this stuff and it is a total pity play. Phil, what you are experiencing when you feel anxious are the consequences of your actions rolling down hill towards you. If this money emergency is real (big if) then being worried about it is something everyone does when they have money issues. I had a lot of sleepless nights last year because of money issues I was having, and sleep a lot better now that I've worked them out. Stop pulling the tumblr girl bullshit of laying claim to the "cute" mental illnesses that you think you can fake.

I used to do that job. I liked it, got a lot of fresh air and got to move a lot, even built up some muscle while doing it. Phil could not do that job. It's been stated here before, but the guy has no muscle mass and no physical durability. On top of that, this guy gets hot when its 75F and breezy, he'd fucking die pushing carts in the summer.

All of that and the fact he's a complete pussy so he'd try and leave early if he ran his foot over, or pinched his fingers between two carts. Even if he THINKS he could do that job, he can't. We all talk about how his only options are retail, but I don't think anyone thinks about how he can't do even the most basic retail job because most of them are fairly physical and fast moving regardless of what position you hold. That and his showing up late by at least 30 minutes every day and requiring breaks so he can get up off his chair, walk down the hallway and sit on his toilet for 40 minutes would not fly in any store.

I might be in the minority saying this, but I legitimately think he has no other prospects than streaming. As funny as it is to tell him to get a job, he couldn't handle the jobs high schoolers and college kids take. And all this has been about retail, I haven't even touched on how fucked he'd be in any other field of employment. Forgetting about his degree, what could he possibly do for a job? He has no skills, no passion besides spending money, and whether or not he has a legitimate learning disability, he refuses to try and learn anything new unless he's dragged kicking and screaming to it. Politician maybe? But that job requires you make people like you and Phil can't do that either.
