I think you have your answer right there; Vaush put up a better argument and put more effort into explaining what was wrong with Lily's points instead of mindlessly throwing insults at her. Through Lily's history, she's shown that she can take most types insults, slur's, name-calling, ect., in fact, I'd almost say she enjoys getting that kind of stuff now-a-days, as it gives her an excuse to either play the victim or throw out a snarky response and show off her "wit". If there's one thing I can say for sure that I know about Lily, it is that she loves to fight, particularly fights she knows she can get an easy win in. I think that Lily believes, if she really wanted to, she could ruin Xanderhal's career if she decided to. In her mind she has every advantage; she has a bigger following, more money from patron, more woke points, ect. Now, whether Lily could ruin Xanderhal or not, I don't know, I do believe it would be a long and tough "fight" (Xander does have a semi-sizable base) and Lily isn't interested in spending that much time on someone who made a bad video criticizing her, it's not like he's his ex-fiance of several years who's only fanbase is a couple dozen people on Twitter, so she's probably content "knowing" she could run right over Xander if she really wanted to.
However, it's people who can put down a decent argument and fight back that really piss Lily off, because (outside of shit-talking them on Tumblr, which even Lily probably knows is a hollow comfort) there's nothing she can do to them, even if she wanted to. He's too big and he's part of the type of crowd Lily normally likes to roll with, and he's shown that he'd probably steamroller Lily in an argument, even if it's one over Youtube video's calling each-other out. So the only option she has is to demonize him on her Tumblr, a website that's a shell of its former self, and who really gives a crap about what anyone says there? So, there ya go, insulting people she can't otherwise reach on Tumblr is Lily's cold comfort because she's too much of a wimp to do it anywhere that might land her in shit.
