I've always maintained that stickers are preferable to the alternatives, which is the kind of dogpiling and white noise posting that made places like SA unreadable much of the time. If you agree or disagree with a post, you can press a button and move on, not make a whole post just to say "this post good" or "this post bad".

It's up to you how you analyze how people react to your post. If you are going against the grain in a thread you should expect that people will react negatively. If you expected a lot of approval and you're suddenly under 20 dumb and autistic ratings, you may want to take a step back and re-read what you said with a fresh perspective, because you may in fact be saying some real retard shit.

The system exists so people can say "yes i agree" or "no i disagree" without needing to reply. It was a big fucking problem in the early forum where people would just quote-reply and say "I agree with this 100%."

Honestly I think stickers are worth it just for this purpose. Yes they clean up discussion by giving people a way to 'reply without replying', but the real magic is seeing someone sperg out about getting too many meanie stickers. It always warms my cold heart.

But holy shit this is worse lol. Any site that's made to be in spite of another one will almost always fail. Same applies to this place. If KF refugees and people complaining about the Farms congregate there just to shit on this site, one of two things could happen: 1. They run out of steam after a while and the site dribbles to deadness or 2. They just keep acting like spergs and get the place shut down because no one there actually knows how to handle push back from people in the articles and stuff.

All those shades of purple used do NOT look good. Just stick to a color that won't sear the users eyes off (such as black, blue, grey or brown) and stick to that instead of trying to include all the colors of the rainbow.
