Heuristically a lot of global covid measures have to be damage control for political castes at this point. If you just vaccinate the at-risk segments of the populace and reopen even a little (I guess you have to still update the vaccines for the new strains, lmao) people could demand accountability for some of the worst society & economy destroying ideas these geniuses had. And the Democrats have hardly been surreptitious about their plans, to their credit- if that's what you'd call it, I'm not sure it's the best expression but I'm not sure how else to describe it- have been explicit and blatant with their allying themselves with the WEF and their cause- so I genuinely do not understand how it is a surprise to anyone.
