Wuhan Coronavirus: Megathread - Got too big

I'm pretty sure we'll see nationwide tobacco and alcohol bans by the year's end. The train has left the station and Covid is being used as an excuse to push any kind of authoritarianism imaginable.
As retarded as the Biden admin is I highly doubt they'd go full Prohibition mode. Alcohol is one of the few things getting isolated, depressed masses through the night; during the first round of lockdowns liquor stores were declared essential businesses for a reason.

If it DOES go through, the results will be an accelerationist's wet dream. Nothing will rile up a formerly complacent populace harder than when you strip away their bread and circuses.

I swear to God not even the Nazis and Soviets would have treated people this way. No two masks for me unless I have to wear them to get into a building.

Read the following, just got it. Things don't match here. Maybe the school is just fucking with the students. Can see that. I don't believe anything they say.

BREAKING NEWS FROM THE CARMEL PINE CONE

February 10, 2021, 3:02 p.m.

NEW CASES IN COUNTY FALL ALMOST 80 PERCENT FROM WHAT THEY WERE A MONTH AGO

New coronavirus infections have been declining rapidly around the country and the state, and the epidemic here in Monterey County is no exception. In the last seven days, the county health department confirmed 867 new cases of the virus among local residents, down from 4,043 cases for the week that ended Jan. 10 — a decline of 78.6 percent.

The Monterey Peninsula had 147 of this week's cases, including 78 in Seaside, 31 in Marina, 24 in Monterey, four in Pacific Grove, three in Carmel Valley, two in Pebble Beach and Carmel area (93923) and one in Carmel-by-the-Sea. There were no new cases in Big Sur. The county's hotspots in Salinas and the Salinas Valley had 547 cases during the last week, the county health department also said. Please see our "Cases by Zip Code" table below for more details.

MOCO STILL WAY BEHIND IN VACCINES BUT NEW ELIGIBILITY CATEGORIES ANNOUNCED

It's a sobering experience to compare the rate of vaccinations in Monterey County to what's going on around the nation and the state.

According to the latest data from the Monterey County health department, the county has now received 43,325 doses and administered 34,013 doses of the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines — or about 9,500 doses received and 7,500 doses administered per 100,000 county residents. The numbers for the United States and California are much higher.

According to the CDC, nationwide vaccine distribution has now reached 66 million doses, or about 19,800 per 100,000 residents, while almost 45 million doses have been administered, which is about 13,500 per 100,000 Americans. In California, the numbers are 7.6 million doses received (19,200 per 100,000 residents) and almost 5 million administered (12,500 per 100,000 residents). As you can see, Monterey County's numbers have fallen to about 50 percent of the statewide and national figures, so it's no wonder county residents are complaining about being unable to get the shots.(I don't care, they can have mine. They can bite my ass, too. - JS)

Though Monterey County's vaccine supply has been seriously lagging, health officer Dr. Ed Moreno told the county board of supervisors yesterday that “significant progress” has been made getting eligible people inoculated. He also said the county's allocations are slowly increasing.(Moreno needs to be fired. I've shit things with more ability and drive than him. - JS)

One hopeful sign is that the county has expanded eligibility to include people from 65 to 74 years of age who have essential jobs. In addition, Moreno announced that beginning Feb. 17 people 65 and older who live in the county's hotspots would be eligible to receive the vaccine. The included zip codes are 93930 (King City), 93927 (Greenfield), 93960 (Soledad), 93926 (Gonzales), 93901 (Salinas), 93905 (Salinas), 93906 (Salinas), 93933 (Marina), 93955 (Seaside), 95012 (Castroville), 95039 (Moss Landing) and 95076 (Pajaro/Las Lomas). Together, those zip codes account for about 90 percent of the county's coronavirus cases. (I don't care. I live in a "hotspot" and STILL will not get the vaccine. My 92-year-old mother-in-law got hers and she seems to be doing okay. Good for her. - JS)

Please remember that if you're eligible you can make an appointment for a vaccination in Monterey County by checking these websites: mcvaccinate.com, offered by the county health department, and www.chomp.org/vaccine, which is the site for clinics operated by Community Hospital. Beginning Feb. 11 you may also be able to schedule a vaccine at cvs.com.(Fuck, no! - JS)

How badly fucked are children going to get afterwards? It's important to be social during the child-teen years, so I imagine just one year is going to fuck them up a lot since that year is spend on either being holed up in a house or talking to a computer. But electronics are not the same thing as being face-to-face.
Super fucked up, but maybe that's tangential to normalizing socialization via data harvesting apps.

Double mask is retarded just wear an N95 and you're good I see idiots everyday walking around with cloth masks on their face thinking its gonna save them just use the proper shit or don't.
N95 wont stop fungal spores.
If you think it will stop exponentially smaller viral particles, I've got a bridge to sell you.

Part of me thinks they will be really fucked up.
Part of me thinks they will be immunized to it, basically when they hit their teenage "this is stupid you all lied to me" phase, there is a chance they will look at this shit critically and come to the realization that society is stupid and ran by pussies.

You really only need to stop droplets unless you are in a really nasty environment. I use silicone respirators with replaceable P100 filters though, if I'm near people who might be sick.

I can't help but feel bad about the children. No personally visiting their friends, no prom, no holidays/gathering/celebrations, and so on. This would probably even heavily strain the parents' relationships on the 'teenage rebellion' stage, where the parents will see it as rebellion anyway on their children pointing out everything done for a 'death pandemic' was useless and their parents were dumb for not thinking critically.
This is going to fuck up a future generation and nobody is thinking of that. It's all "THINK OF THE GRANDMAS" while old people die to anything anyway.
I'm a bit scared of what the next generation will be like.

I mean what you wear will probably realistically stop it. I've had to wear P100 respirators to protect against black mold spores before, they wouldn't let us work with N95 (which really aren't that high-speed) because they were insufficient to stop the fungal spores.

Current bullshit for the "required" tests for travelling to and from Bongland is that you must have a private test that cost upwards of 100 good boy points, the free NHS ones are just not good enough apparently.
Supposedly just for while travel/lockdown restrictions last, what's the bet they'll make it permanent? Nice little racket for the ministers who get kickbacks from the companies and the Harley Street fucks who use the Hippocratic Oath as toilet paper. If they really cared about testing and tracing everyone, they would have set up free/subsidised lateral flow tests (which are good enough for NHS staff) in every airport and ferry terminal.

Edit - it looks like the sole reason they require private tests is to "save the NHS" by not putting a burden on the system. Kinda made sense when they started this back in September, but most of the test centers in my country are fucking ghost towns right now. IF we get summer hols and this shit is still in place, I'm sure a lot of travellers will be very upset by these extra unnecessary fees.
Just very riled up by the blatant profiteering atm.

What interests me is that if Covid cases continue to fall at the rate they are now Covid will essentially disappear in about 7-8 weeks yet restrictions and authoritarianism is only getting worse. I know Americans are fucking dumb but I don't think Dementia Joe or his kike handlers can craft propaganda effective enough to keep up the charade when something is literally non existent.

There will be a lot of anger, and not just from the generation that are children now.

Anger from the now young generation because their childhood/young years are being stolen from them.
Anger from the newly graduated, because they graduate into an economy that will set their earning potential back years.
Anger from the millennials, because they got plunged them into two straight economic recessions, maybe a depression.
Anger from the middle-aged, because their businesses were destroyed and were laid off or furloughed.
Anger from the retired, because they can't travel anywhere.
Anger from the old, because they can't see their families.

A lot of anger.

They're waiting until enough people have been vaxxed (since that's the entire narrative) to proclaim themselves the saviors of America, making sure they win the midterms in 2022.

It seems like it might be enough to fix the younger generations, but it might be too little, too late because of all the migrants. I'm even seeing a lot of progressive girls who have stopped giving a fuck and will openly talking about the FEMA camps, The Great Reset, and how the government is run by pedophiles who work for China to destroy the world.

If double masking becomes legally mandated, I'm becoming a NEET and never leaving my damn house again.

One mask gives me breathing issues (narrow nasal passages) and fogs up my glasses. Two? How the fuck am I supposed to function?
Fuck this shit. If society forces a muzzle on me then I'm opting out, one way or another.
They don't even have to legally mandiate it. All that has to happen is Big Business applying these guidlines and refusing service from people who don't double mask.

and I bet we'll set it change as soon as this weekend or even tomorrow. fuck this gay earth and everyone on it.

edit: At least in my neck of the woods, this hasn't happened yet.

Pretty bad. I think the Establishment is banking on that, too.

Except, when they hit their teens, I don't think it'll be the kind of fucked up the elites want. The youth will realize they were robbed, along with experiencing the normal maelstrom of teenage angst, and there'll be hell to pay.

I see even more massive waves of youth unemployment and opting out of the system in the future as the younger generations realize how fully the deck is stacked against them. You can see it in their memes, in the jokes, the usernames they choose on their private discords. Boomers, Xers and older Millenials are clinging to Daddy Government but the kids know he isn't their friend, and they feel as though they have no security in him at all.

That is a very bad thing.
