It gets me every time. When something bad happens in the western world by someone they don't like, its always like the Holocaust.

Another thing that it's really stupid is how people keep saying that bullshit about "No person is illegal", when they actually are. A country needs to keep a process in order to see who gets in and if everything is in order with them. And if someone doesn't abide by that process, they are a criminal out right. This is something necessary, or else you end up with Sweden, where rape and violent crimes skyrocketed and the authorities don't know why it's happening.

I'm not going to contest this, since most people will just equate things that happen today to Harry Potter, Star Trek and Star Wars like those are the epitomes of cultural production these days.
But at the same time, i'm not going to be a pretentious retard to say that they should read history or philosophy. Everyone is responsible for their own culture level and if they don't want to cultivate themselves, it's their choice to do so.

True I think part of the problem is our culture is so dilluted because of pan national net culture. Pretty much anyone has loads of historical shorthands they probably know about but others won't really care about or even know. If I was an american i'd be tempted to use the slow boil decimation of the native americans or the way the irish , italians and genrally catholics got treated like shit when they got off the boat. But no one outside the us would know the finer details and it's less modern(?) than 40's.

Well, the GOP has been trained for 40 years to never engage on cultural stuff. Just let the left have the culture and they'll be nice and not fuck with the economy, the legal system, et cetera.

I don't think that's really true at all the Republican party has been very comfortable with moralistic grandstanding, on certain level it's expected as they're supposed to act as a counterweight for progressice movements. it's just their public image relies on downplaying it.

Paedophilia was way more accepted in the 1970s than it is now, though. That's something that declined over time, except in troon/lolcow communities.
