prolly just finish selecting and in process to debut or other stuff (?)
even if this HoloEN audition start we might get them idk end of the year? i guess..
Corporate Vtubers do it for the money! I do it for the craft!

>next tweet

Guess I'll cancel all my streams for this week because *checks notes* I won't be making money out of it

Also, why are indie Vtubers suddenly mad about Corporate vtubers

The only reason you got into Vtubing in the first place was because Corporate Vtubers managed to show the world that you can make mad $$$.

Kizuna Ai , the "Queen" of Vtubers was corporate for god's sake
this probably the type of person that will secretly try to join Hololive despite all those mock tweet about corporate, if they get selected within 2-3 month gonna start making a mess due not able to being cooperate with management due their bullshit twitter ideology, then decide "graduate" start being indie, next making video about "exposing dark secret" regarding company although its state on NDA or thats how corporate work just so they can milking the shit out of it for money

I wish Holostars were given better treatment. As long as this neglect keeps going they aren't going to grow to their full potential. Invest harder, Cover.
I'm really curious as to why exactly Holostars get treated the way they do. Sure you could make the argument they don't make any money, but that's largely down to the shitty treatment + lack of advertisement they get. Yet, Yagoo clearly loves them dearly, hell I'd even go so far as to say he might like them a little bit more than the girls, so at what point in the chain are they getting shafted?

The sheep has now done the FOTM song. At this rate I wouldn't be surprised if we get a cover from every member eventually. While I still think Risu holds the title for best performance of the song, Watame's art is something else. She looks like an entirely different character, less like a sheep and more like a horned demon out of an Atlus game.

Place your bets on who the first person from EN will be to cover it. If you were waiting for holostars to touch the song, Shien already did so months ago and it was good. Feeds back into the idea that the stars are the red headed stepchildren (in Roberu's case, quite literally) of the agency.

As for why, before they got Shinove, they were marketed exclusively to fujoshis and had to share management with the girls. They realized there was a market for male streamers a bit too late and hololive had been established as being more for female idols so thirsty otaku don't give the stars the time of day. It happens a lot whenever a girl works with them that they get low viewership and a very bad like to dislike ratio.

Well, during the whole Calli thing, indies were mad because corporate vtubers apparently get everything for free and automatically get famous without putting any work in.
So I guess the answer to your question is "Because indie vtubers are retarded".

Kanda was channeling his inner Peter Coffin when I tune in. I'll be watching the archive for my gunkan fix later but this is glorious enough.

I liked the Ichikara belt. Then he started doing transformation poses with it and I love it. Kagami pls make it happens.

Point was good. Counterpoint: how many people have you had post your face with a death threat next to it?

Look, I get she has a lot going for her, but she is, regardless of being in Hololive, a random girl facing harassment that includes her actual face. That shit is a knock. It brings it home. So while we sit back and think that the situation is getting better (and it is), someone is still experiencing it. We're armchair generals watching someone else's war. Wartime fatigue is real and it can kill the best.
Nah, that's perfectly understandable and the mask slip says a thousand words on her end. I was just annoyed by people who think posting on the internet about how they're right and everyone else is wrong counts as helping when Coco already has a list of people she can talk to.

IMO Cover will continue leaving open the possibility for Holostar EN, but probably not take the leap. Hololive is pretty much their bread and butter: female vtubers are a known quantity, their popularity is effectively baked in (especially in terms of Hololive vs. Nijisani and others for the average vtuber fan), and they have a baseline for expected monthly revenue thanks to superchat tracking. The latter especially isn't likely to last (market saturation will happen and the girls will eventually start cannibalizing each other's superchats and merch purchases), but for the moment Cover isn't likely to rock the boat or take leaps of faith.

Depending on their risk tolerance though we could see one or two Holostars, if just to serve as a guinea pig and gauge how open the EN market is to it. Sort of like the original Holostars, just better focused and with (ideally) better background support. There's definitely a market for it, but to my knowledge we don't have any good mainstream examples outside of Pewdiepie memes to really have an understanding of its limits.
If you ask me, one of the qualifications has to be that they have to be a good singer and have the all-important "It" factor.
If they can't connect with the audience in a natural way, the experiment will fall on its face.
Second, they have some other talent (it doesn't have to be gaming) that sets them apart from their peers.
Otherwise, they'll be lost in the shuffle.

I hope no one. It’s a terrible song and grating on the ears.

I mean, it’s clearly just jealousy, same as it is for indie music and “selling out”, and I’m actually kinda willing to give them a pass for the same reason. It can be frustrating if you’re actually one of the people out there hustling (and not just a TBA) and you just never catch and you see these people making 10’s of thousands a week while you’re getting nothing. It’s part of why I think I’ve been watching more indies lately, because when you’re one of 20 or 50 people watching you hope it’s encouraging for them.

Funny enough, Calli herself also believed that, it was until she meet several idols that she actually saw how hard true idols work, in her words and i quote "i realized i was being a jealous little hoe"

Hopefully with Roberu having reached the 100k subs benchmark, Cover has added his 3D model to their agenda and things can accelerate from there.

Speaking of Indies:
Higure Akatsuki is singing “Sweet” songs for Valentine’s Day. As in songs that have candy in the name. I actually was not expecting the pun, I’ll be honest.
anyway, go watch her, she’s still a small channel and deserves better.

Two words. Electric Guitar. If they can nab some guy who has the ability to shred the playing field opens up. Think of the collaborations and lives that can happen. It would be a great amplifying effect for any performance if suddenly a live guitar accompaniment shows up, while also being a safer bet than having a Male-Female duet live to stave-off the seisopaths.

Which makes their rage at her so much more ironic.

I remember Rikka having a 3D debut, following his and Matsuri's "daddy daddy doo" cover. Aaand nothing happened. Back to stagnation.

The boys are at the mercy of YT algorithm it seems. Although, I have no idea what would be needed to fix this situation. To get them at least HoloID numbers.

Hey, even one who is a drummer could open avenues.

Holostars faces a few problems:
1. They're new and late to the scene comparatively. Hololive had these numbers until they really started taking off due to the Azur Lane collab.
2. They can't grab the fujo audience, Niji boys, especially Kuzuha grabbed it, and seeing Kuzu's numbers, it's not a very big audience and he's already cornered it.
3. Promotion, their numbers saw a boost after that one event Cover did where the boys gained a segment,

That said, you know what doesn't boost their numbers? Collabing with Hololivers. They never seem to retain anyone new from their collabs with Matsuri or Fubuki for example. Holostars are stuck in the "hustle till we get noticed" phase. Japanese that watch vtubers would rather a female voice actress and avatar and Reddit is not so secretly a bunch of waifufags.

As for Holo recruitment, I don't worry. Hololive wants work ethic. Talent? Sure, they like to see it, but you can get someone who's able to engage with an audience and create talent. Tell them to start streaming learning a few talents and that creates an endearing character. None of crazy indies are going to get anywhere, because they have no work ethic.
