The fact that they feel the need to screech to everyone that they're feeding the alpacas speaks volumes. If the animals appeared well housed and cared for, whether they're fed would be self-evident. They're bragging about doing the absolute bare minimum, sort of like people who feel the need to tell everyone that they're "nice" or "not racist"-- if those things were actually true, people would be able to tell for themselves without you saying anything.

That's all fucking hard work and they won't complete even a percent of it. Not to mention actually building a greenhouse out of glass is damn expensive, hence why people around here (Cheeki Breeki Central Europe) usually build them out of transparent heavy foil. The fence could and should have been built when they moved into the property and would have been a lot easier, you know, to build it without a bunch of animals around. You plan your animals around the place you have and not the other way, Troon Bonne.

I'm going to be extremely generous and assume they're talking about industrial hemp, the one people use to make clothes and textile. AFAIK growing is pretty damn easy - processing however requires either back-breakingly hard manual labour or expensive and large machinery. This is going to end in spectacular failure, if they even attempt it. Now, moving on to the next point:

This seems like kind of a wierd venture for them in general, I feel like trees would need fertile soil to begin with, plus they're on that absolutely barren flatland where the wind has to really take what little topsoil they have, plus they have a ton of hungry critters, plus it's cold as shit in the winter... you don't see ANY trees in the landscape every time they post pictures and I feel like that should probably tell them something about what the land naturally supports without a lot of outside intervention. Also havent their water rights been a question? An orchard would take a hell of a lot more water than livestock, I would imagine.

Chestnut and walnut trees grow very slowly and won't produce any nuts for 15-20 years. Even then the amount is going to be meager, not even a basketful.
They are a "stay in this place for a long time", possibly a lifelong project, not "a commune of useless autistic trannies" one.

Interesting idea, (I wonder if they watched that video posted a couple of pages back) but do they know how long chestnuts take to reach maturity. It would be a great idea if they were planning something for their kids to inherit. Whoops, well there goes that idea.

Not a bad plan, but if they're begging for the money for groceries every month then I'm not sure where they'll get the money from. Still, you can put up something from polythene and hosepipes for not much money.
