My take has always been that DSP goes out of his way to reply to Derich so he can save that fake 'good will' for later , for example, when people accuse him of only responding to people who give him money. "Thats's not true dood, i respond to Derich all the time!" DSP is always looking for ways to control the narrative when it comes to perception of him. Hardly anything he does is ever genuine, imo.
Also, he knows Derich is most likely not going to say anything too controversial, so he can read what he says without putting much thought/effort into responding. minimum effort, maximum payoff!

See, at first I thought it was fake and regardless of whatever else I may spew I do take care of dying people until death. I think he is genuine with it in his way. Like he does genuinely feel something akin to pity or sympathy but not full on. He is too tolerant even when irritated. I do think he does use it to his advantage. Just because I think he has some form of real emotion surprisingly enough outside of greed doesn't mean I actually think he would apply those more "sentimental" ? feelings towards anything positive. I am just stunned he feels them in any way really.

Most of this is still true, but since he revealed that he was waiting for more money so he could continue tipping we now know he is not well off. The thing that gets me is that I’m unable to wrap my head around their constant support of Phil when in reality he offers NOTHING in return other than empty platitudes and abysmal gameplay. Recently, I've come to realize that the main attraction isn't DSP, but the fucking pathetic freaks that he attracts.

The autism vortex is really an apt description of DSP, because he kind of is just like a force of nature isn't he? DSP at the end of the day is no different than an animal: he has no dignity, no morals or ethics, no free will. He consumes and consumes without any thought of sustainability or planning, until inevitably he reaches his end without any sort of introspection about how it could have been avoided. He forever lives only in the bottom two tiers of Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs.
