Looks like I'll not be listening to the newest Khantent after all. Why don't people understand that if your GF is not a core part of your channel that some people get annoyed at you dragging them in the frame. To give Michelle the benefit of the doubt though, is she were to replace Digi this episode I wouldn't have minded, but still, it just makes it awkward having a real vagina and a pretend vagina in the same room, even more so if it's Digi.

Funny how things tend to stick. Maybe yelling that fact out to Dick was like his coming out. You could really hear him say it with such guilty glee. I think that's why it stuck - it came straight from the heart. Even though HE wanted to be the little sister in the (receiving) end. I don't think he's a threat though, aside from the stupid meta rambling that no one should listen to.

I was also not surprised that he flipped his shit when he reviewed Shin Sekai Yori as it's the quintessential anti ADHD show and it's mostly atmosphere and dialog. I still like the show, well more so the manga as the art is better. Does it have moments where it's campy as hell? Sure, but that's most anime for ya.
This might be a personal gripe of mine with Digi, but that bastard had the gall to review Legend of the Galactic Heroes despite having only seen the first 28 out of 110 episodes. Although with it being favourible and mostly just a video about differentiation via various character designs, that always felt like the point where I knew deep down Digi is retarded and can't follow through. It felt to me like a guy reading like 200 pages of War and Peace and saying "Yeah so, this Tolstoy guy is kinda good. I think this book is good."

While I know LOGH has somewhat of a fedora-tipping intellectual meme-status, his handling was somewhat emblematic of his whole character trajectory as a whole, further exemplefied by his statement, that he "doesn't have to watch Alien as a movie to get it and analyze it, because he watched a 15minute SuperBunnyHop video analysis of Alien multiple times".

I think that Digi was bent on hating Shin Sekai Yori from the start, he has an autistic hate boner for A-1 Pictures.

I feel ya there bud. I haven't finish LOTGH yet but some colleague of mine who was only 23 at the time recommended it to me as his fave. Kid has good tastes. So I got to around episode 70 intenting to finish it. And I can say that the story and especially the characters change so much that it's impossible to watch 28 episodes and think you 'got it'.

Digi definely had a period where he was hating on A1 for good reasons, those being them producing a large amount of light novel adaption that feature a (secretly) overpowered milktoast protagonist with their dick tuned like a magnet to attract a harem of various bodyshapes, hairstyles and haircolors, all while still having a main love interest (hence the spurned women's club). A1 really did this like a factory, so he was right about that. And he knew they could do better.

And to be fair Shin Sekai Yori's production value could have been way better, but the voiceacting, characters and music make that show what it is for me so I don't care.

A1 did good shows in the past and Digi just hated seeing them do 20 shows a year of C grade anime, while they could be making 6 anime of A tier.

Back when he did that review I already felt like he was grasping at straws on what content to do next. Normally he would do any topic that interested him. Around the time this review hit he was already in the field of responding to fan suggestions and doing tierlists and rants.

The Shin Sekai Yori vid was born from his delusion to gain 1 million subs by the end of 2018, after a fan spurred him on on his digi vs. everybody format. He tried to go back to his roots and do another SAO/Asterisk War, but his gripes felt very forced. For clarification, I haven't read the manga or seen the show besides like 1-3 episodes, but the backlash to his video was immense.

13k likes vs. 11k dislikes and that was before he turnt into an esoteric junkie tranny. Impressive to say the least and proof that he was seemingly offbase.

Most /r/anime redditors, or weebs in general, get into and out of anime again in less than 2 years. They didn't watch anime at the height of his popularity and wouldn't know who the fuck this "Digibro" even is. He's hardly ever mentioned on /r/anime these days.

Case in point: Searching for "Digi". Half of thesse threads aren't even about him.

If twitter is any indication, Conrad is mostly remembered as the "I like pictures of little girls being fucked" guy and/or by people who - years later! - are still mad that he hated their favorite cartoon (typically SAO, Jojo, Shin Sekai Yori). They're still discovering he trooned out.
/r/anime mods hate Digi with a passion for a multitude of reasons from back in the day, that shit gets deleted and buried.

I've seen that video of Digi's, and I have it on my hard drive. Digi's goal wasn't to review LOGH, it was to use it and other works by the same director as examples of the importance of visuals and how they can either make or break an anime respectively. It wasn't an in-depth analysis of all aspects of LOGH, just a short analysis of what it did right visually.

I've gone through his MAL, and there a couple of A-1 Pictures productions he seems to actually like and scored a 7 or higher.

Granted, the highest rated one Uchuu Show e Youkoso aired in 2010, two years before SAO, aired but the rest of them aired after Sword Art Online - An Analytical Diatribe (with the exception of Ookii 1 Nensei to Chiisana 2 Nensei (2014) which aired three months prior), with Kaguya-sama being the latest one (2019) despite Digi's negative Seasonal Impressions video of it. In most cases, Digi's own scores are higher than the MAL average (with Uchuu's being a 7.35.) Digi gave Ookkii the #15 spot in his Top 20 Anime of 2014 series, and had had talked about the Nanoha Vivid anime positively in his Nanoha video. He may even be watching Kaguya-sama season 2, but it's hard to tell since it's been marked as "currently watching" for almost a year.

Digi and other anitubers realized that slamming A-1 Pictures shows was a surefire way to get views as they tended to be extremely popular and/or infamous. A-1's production and business practices didn't help either, making them all the easier to target. Plus, they just pump out a lot of shit and mediocre anime. I don't think his fans would've minded if he had made a video praising Kaguya-sama, but I don't think he could've said anything interesting about it that other anitubers hadn't already said.

Ah, my bad, I misremembered then. Upon rewatching the video, it was clear he wasn't doing a substantial review. Nonetheless, I think there were many red flags even back then.

I don't think you need to postulate mod censorship to explain his absence from discussions. We know the view counts of khantehnt compared to his heyday, He simply has been forgotten.

I tried to (re-)watch his SSY video but I gave up 5 minuted in. I always found the unscripted Digibro After Dark or the old PCP episodes more engaging to listen to. His reading-from-a-script singsang cadence is unengaging. Exceptions exist, notably his SAO rant. I also don't think he ever did analysis which would imply, as I understand the word, taking an anime apart in a preplanned, somewhat mechanical way and learning from the pieces about the whole. It also implies some aspiration of objectivity in the approach if not the judgement, as I see it, something Conrad adamantly denies existing.

Conrad is on record for having rated anime by animation, characters, sound and whatnot and then discarding the approach because it did not yield the result he wanted. I think that's fine and dandy (mainly though because I think reducing a piece of media to a number between 1 and 10 is retarded in the first place) but that's pretty much the opposite of an analysis. His old "buddy" animesnob did reviews on anidb based on that approach and several subcategories for each on top of it. It's boring as hell but probably more of an attempt at analysis than what Conrad ever did. Conrad judges an anime by number of lolis per second of footage, then rationalizes his way around it, and goes off on whatever angle he finds suitable for a video.

Whatever, I take his rambling rants over his poor attempts at well-crafted scripts any time. I (powerlevel reveal) have been weebing for probably as long as he has if not longer meaning I couldn't learn much from him that I didn't know and would interest me. For that I go to Canipa Effect for example but that's not something you could listen to on the side at work. On the other hand Conrad would have had a hard time triggering my daddy issues by unhingedly shitting on an anime I like because he meant entertaiment and never was an authority figure to me. I can't fucking believe that there are still people on twitter salty about what he said about a show that aired almost 9 years ago like SAO or SSY. It's just a cartoon for gods fucking sake.

Khantehnt is a much better format than his "analysis" in principle but now he has become a fucking ghoul who watches anime with mass appeal at 2x the speed because he lost interest and I can't enjoy that.

Since no one has yet to make a post regarding the latest tweets from Digi (who now goes by the handle goldenwitchfire)

Digi lists his favorite things to do. Three of them being "Party Drugs", "Horny Posting", and "Throwing IRL parties with dope people". And yes, that is indeed seafoam green nail polish.

Here we have Digi praising revisionist tranny pseudoscience.

The video of Digi reading off his "favorite things to do" is really fucking creepy. The tranny voice and terrible writing aside, when's the last time any adult has thought to make a handwritten list of their favorite things? It just seems like a really childish thing to do (outside of making a dating app profile I guess). It's pretty much confirmed with Digi's fetish of becoming a loli, but I'm almost 100% certain that he's delving into ageplay shit. I guess this could also be Digi's (((alter))) who is just (((causing))) Digi to act like a little girl? Btw Digi self-diagnoses himself with DID in case anyone forgot. I just hope Digi finds a way to incorporate ageplay into his videos :D

Digi did a livestream a few days ago. He sits there and does a bunch of the rants in his backlog. These were apparently all the ones that he could do without reading/watching something. Bird plays Apex Legends in the background and hardly talks to Digi for the first hour.

It's not too eventful of a stream. Most of the requests are pretty autistic (i.e. Did you see that news about that one game that is releasing? What are your thoughts?)

My favorite parts are that there were multiple rant requests for May. Digi instead has Bird read them. I could feel the awkwardness through the screen. Bird does a good job of just rolling with it but holy shit that's such a weird thing to do. It kind of makes your relationships feel interchangeable.

Digi also has the genius line: "I'm not so much into philosophy like reading about philosophy. I'm more into having my own philosophy" (read: I don't want to read. I want to pretend that all of my PHIL 101 level thoughts are really smart)

Many of the rants are dated by the fact that they'll 1. mention a topical thing like a game release or 2. will mention May. I had the thought the other day that there's probably one person who paid for one of these rants but died from covid or something else D:

I suppose this way he claim he technically delivered on his rant rewards, the same way a student can claim he technically did his homework by filling in random answers.

Two interesting bits from the last PCP. Ben Saint argues that there can't be another radcon because they haven't delivered what they promised for the last one. He and Gib put the blame on Conrad not getting his shit down (timestamp). Somebody wants to know details about the breakup of Conrad and Amanda (timestamp). They refer him to the experts, "the stupid place, where the idiots go".

Ben Saint about Amanda: "And then she got to be a fucking right-wing shit heel with Ethan Ralph, [...] She was always insane. [...] She was always dumb as fuck. But now she's free to be as dumb as she likes and embarrass herself in whatever way she chooses."

BTW: Dear caller who has now come here: Conrad reacted on his patreon to the breakup, it's linked somewhere in this thread.

I believe Digi did a lecture on the Brony community but it entered editing hell and now Digi's brain is fried so it will never come out finished.
