No witnesses after Senate Republicans said they'd subpoena Pelosi and Trump's lawyers said they'd call hundreds of witnesses. All over this evening or early tomorrow.

The Navy have just announced a general stand down so they can deal with 'extremist' elements within the service.

Lots and lots of intersectional talking points and troon inclusion from the top brass.

Apparently this whole witness thing is a clusterfuck. CNN reported that Trump's lawyers have over 300 witnesses that they want to call.

Also apparently every witness has to be voted on by the house if they can appear so you can actually end up with a situation where house democrats have a trial where they will allow only their own witnesses and deny Trump all his witnesses. As you can imagine, this can only have positive results for the country.

Everyone knows that this is a waste of time and if they were trying to prevent Trump from a 2024 run, I don't know what the angle is here with the impeachment since they know they don't have enough votes to land a slam dunk conviction.

Problem with that theory is that I don't see Pelosi and Schumer eliminating filibusters a second time after it came back to hurt them on SCOTUS, even with their hatred of MAGA taken into account. If they were going to eliminate the filibuster for impeachment, they would have done it by now.

If Trump gets acquitted, then I think he's going to go to Florida and retire. DeSantis will probably protect him and his assets since if he ever is dumb enough to set foot in New York, he'll be brought up on some bullshit state-level charges.

Ghislaine Maxwell will probably meet the same fate Epstein did if she hasn't already. I don't see Biden or anyone else in the DNC ever cutting her a deal.

So, even with the push for a "progressive utopia", I still don't see what this show trial accomplishes in the long run aside from at most giving the media more fodder for justifying their ongoing corporate purges.
