Weeb Wars / AnimeGate / #KickVic / #IStandWithVic / #vickicksback - General Discussion Thread

This plays into what I was thinking earlier. During the beginning of KickVic it was said that there were right leaning VAs that were KickVic. I was wondering who are they? The only two I know are John Swasey and Chuck Huber (who seems to flip flop alot). Also could it be those right leaning VAs who are kickvic are only so out of fear that the same thing could easily happen to them.

But this shit is terrible and I'm happy that ClownfishTV talked about these different stores and how they play into each other.

J love how he points out even Chris Pratt who tries to be apolitical has possible keeps get attacked by these cancel culture warriors

What how? He just makes low budget faith based movies. He's not sending gay people on fire.
That's the problem with those people, doesn't matter what you do or how good a person you are, if you don't follow their checklist and their demands they will continuously attack you even after you're dead. A good example of that is Stan Lee and that basketball player who's name I don't recall at the moment. Even shows through this video, like kv's hypocrisy of "Vic doing this to himself and none of them are going out of their way to ruin him" as they continue to attack him. his source of income, and anyone who dares to say otherwise about him.

Least we can do is put up a hell of a fight.
For the non video watchers, 8 Bit Shinobi tweeted a message from Stripe that they will no longer take payment. He is hosting the virtual convention that Vic is scheduled to attend on March 27-28, Ottawa V Con 2021.

I hope Vic isn't being taken advantage of by con artists. This person opened an Indiegogo in November asking for $8,000. The "flexible goal" allows campaign owners to cash out at whatever amount they take in.

Selling arcade units with $12 million dollars worth of pirated games?

On the event page for the convention, he is selling tickets for a "draw". That's probably not legal. You can win either a mini console, a free wine or beer making course, or a weekend of gaming. 5 will go to help support a local charity, and 5 will go to Vic Migongna gofundme?

Oh, God! It's the Fantasy Soft Furry!
The possibility that this is a scam went up exponentially.
Has Vic even confirmed that this is legit?

Since we're already on the topic of Vic's on screen acting: I watched some STC episodes again recently and noticed that Vic is a genuinely good actor in front of a camera (and he's also handsome).

I know Vic enjoyed voice acting for anime, but I'm starting to feel like maybe his acting talent was actually wasted on voice acting. He's made to act in front of a camera, unlike his mostly very unattractive and untalented former colleagues. I hope he'll continue to get on screen acting roles.

Someone already suggested this, I think, but I think he should strive to act in hallmark movies lol.
Vic is more like a Japanese VA than a Western one. He's described as difficult to work with (some of those VAs are notorious for that) yet clearly gives a shit about his job and puts forth effort. He devotes a lot of time to his looks and is great at cultivating and managing a fanbase (which is more impressive for Vic since most big-name Japanese VAs have huge management teams). Dubs and their VAs might not be so bad if more people were like Vic and put some effort into it like he does, and that means doing more shit than just showing up at the studio or a convention. You know, like paying attention to your looks (lose some weight, Jamie) and at least pretending like you enjoy your fanbase and care about your job.

That is so true, Japanese Voice actors go above and beyond for fans something that's very rare in Dubs. English VAs are more concerned with using their little bit of fame to push personal politics/opinions,free shit, going to cons and getting wasted, sleeping with each other and eating themselves to death. If a fan dares to question their outrageous behavior or hot takes they go into full victim/attack mode.

Why can't the Fantasy Soft Furry just go away already? He's so egotistical and stupid that he makes BT look smart by comparison.
Because any day now, he's gonna get that call from Toei giving him the license to Dragonball, even if Dragonball will be pretty worthless compared to Prince Adventures which will be the hottest new thing.
