General Discussion for Virtual Youtubers / Vtubers / Chuubas - it's okay to be a simp for 2D, just don't thirstpost.

I remember Calli mentioning she wished a tough and rugged character joined hololive as a kouhai in the future. Watching Futakuchi Mana debut and she seems to fit that description perfectly with the personality and lifting weights and Muay Thai.
Would be worth keeping an eye if cover might poach her for a future EN generation if her follow-up content is good.

To be more specific she wanted someone that is more tomboy than her but can suplex her ass, considering her taste are weird i mean her taste in men can be reduced to Tyler1 she could probably be joking

Lots of music today. There’s at least 6 karaoke streams in my notifications (though Aqua’s is def. the priority for me).

And a ton of new MV’s.
Hosihikawa & Sasaki

Zea Cornelia

Suisei & Toko

Kazaki Morinaka and a couple others I don’t know

Nagi So

Roha Lee

Kagura Nana

Emma August

Plus basically every NijiKR member, which I decided not to post all of.

For me her debut, persona and talents just scream (heh) "HoloEN". I think she is the perfect addition to the cast and if she won't get recruited soon I will be disappointed.

Idk about you but Ame’s accent is pretty Filipino although she’s white. It will be funny if she’s part Filipino and incite the Pinoy pride for fun and giggle
Nah, far from it. You catch the homegrown Filipino english-speakers by the way they pronounce their letters, enunciate certain syllables and lack of regional drawl. There's a natural speed. lilt and cadence to US-based English speakers that's blatantly missing from Filipino ones unless they actually grew up in the US and picked that up from their environment.

As promising as her debut is along with her fairly unique & niche spot in the vtubing sphere, I'm reserving judgement on whether she's really in it for the long haul. She herself admits that she's basically new to the vtubing scene as recently as last November and just got roped into it by her "manager/producer". A lot of how she talked about it indicates she's not familiar with the tropes and lay of the land so I'm curious how the next few weeks will shake out for her channel.

She's currently based in Japan so it's not much of a leap that she's likely juggling a day job (probably another English teaching job like Calli). This vtubing thing is likely a side-gig for now unless it proves to be financially-viable. Judging from her chat going 'brrrrrrrrr' last night and the surprisingly generous number of superchats she got for being a new indie, it just might be possible. She offers something NEW as far as the EN audience is concerned and she has the market cornered for now. This can potentially be very lucrative for her depending on the amount and quality of content she churns out within these next few months.

I doubt I will ever see the best musical ever pop up on a watchalong. That being Repo! The Genetic Opera. Well, I mean that or Rocky Horror.
Wouldn't be hard to suggest Repo, but now that you said it, anyone suggesting will have to "clarify" that they got the idea from a deleted twitter or reddit post. Rocky Horror is shitty though.

I think it's specifically the Tranny Jannies.
It's probably Artemis herself. She's a mod for Pikamee, wouldn't be much of a stretch to think she's a janny several other places.

I just hopped on to the Coco meme review. I think this is more of her just having fun with the mems she actually wants to review rather than the ones that are sanitized for her guests. Some of this shit is kind of funny actually.

Edit: Ok, Coco is definitely lurking here and got tired of everyone shitting on the quality of her meme reviews. This the fallout. They labeled Matsuri: The Registered Sex Offender. . . I'm dying.
Yeah, a lot of the memes had bits that'd be a "Yikes" from most redditors, but she just glossed over a lot of the cringier shit. That said, the long ones were really fucking long and clunky and I have to wonder if reddit knows how humor works. Since Coco does, I wonder if she's really stubborn about the shitty portion of the title or if she hopes her selection will train them to make better content. Coco, if you're reading this, they are too stupid to learn by negative example.

It's definitely a glove

Seems to want to play Tetris 99. Is having technical difficulties however and I legit can't tell if this is part of the show.

Didn't win the first one. Sadly she isn't a Suisei.

Some quality Haato noises as she finishes in a rather poor place. I'm not going to spam this place with Tetris screenshots but basically she either 4wides or doesn't use a strategy.

She started using Tspins and stopped making mistakes. She seems genuinely surprised by the win.

She had a 2nd place finish after holding at the top of her screen for a really long while
Haachama has a really crazy style of playing. Prioritizes speed and flexibility over building and planning. Not at all bothered by overhangs cause I think she really enjoys glitching pieces in under them. She uses the hold to shuffle a new piece in rather than saving lines. She'd be really good if it weren't for a lot of these quirks, but I get the feeling she's on a weird genius level where it'd bore her if she legitimately tried.

PSA from Marine:

Reddit as a whole is too stupid to learn by negative example. It's just faster to farm karma with terrible template memes. I don't watch Meme Review anymore, I wrote off the unfunny memes as Coco making the show more for Japanese to have a window into Reddit than to showcase anything uniquely humorous.

I watch it for the total confusion of the guests.

I had to explain in discord the joke, people still dont know that dogs cant eat chocolate, the education system has failed us again

Thats something I would put into the common knowledge category...
