Dyson really is a great character, especially if you view the director's cut. I bet Bob doesn't like him specifically because he decides to destroy his life's work to save humanity instead of trying to rework it or just letting it proceed as it would.

They certainly believe that catching the 'rona would be a death sentence for the both of them and that the vaccine is some kind of instacure. That certainly doesn't sound like something people who get all of their medical advice from cartoons would think, now does it?

As for the vaccine, the stories of the severe reactions are one of the reasons I'm holding off for a bit (was it the Pfizer or the Moderna one that someone recently allegedly died from?) If it does have adverse effects on either of these two, it would be unfortunate (seriously, no one wants to see Chris's kids to suffer, even if their father is a douchebag). However, in the case of MovieBob, it would be extremely ironic given his worship of "the Science.

I forget who said it, or if it was just a random tweet, this isn't my observation - but, Bob's the kinda guy who says things as loudly as he can, and then, depending on the reaction he got, tries to walk it back with "It was just a joke" or "I never said that".
I would hazard a guess that Chris was more rational when he was undergoing his post-secondary education. However, with the rise social media and the societal fragmenting we have witnessed for the past decade, there has been significant "cognitive decline" (for lack of a better term.) It is obvious that Chris's ability for critical thought has eroded to the point of nonexistence. He accepts the party line without question and devolved into a mindless consoomer like his older brother.
Chris likely believes that scientists and the DNC magically conjured up the vaccine.
He will gladly believe anything the media tells him.
